There is no other way to get to PMC. | | By Student - 14 Oct 2013, Rate: average | Perth Modern School is an academic-based school that is solely focused on nurturing students' education, by attempting to use the best methods and resources possible. They have attempted to do this by selecting only teachers who have 5 years' experience, by placing a heavy emphasis on history, values and house spirit and by providing many opportunities for personal growth. However, the school is beginning to focus more of its funds on Mathematics , Science and English and Society and Environment, and has diverted funds away from the minor subjects such as music, art, sport, cooking etc. This means that if your son or daughter is more artistically inclined, they may be better off somewhere else, where there is a more balanced amount of funding and where the principal is more democratic, as the principal of Perth Modern has gained a reputation for being dislocated from the school, and making decisions primarily by herself. On top of that, the school is - being an *academic* school - somewhat strict as their psychologist is used quite often to sort out minor difficulties and the standards of behaviour are very high.
Look pass the gloss and refinement and get to the core of a school's ideologies. Are they an ATAR factory, or a place to learn and develop? | | >>More reviews... |
