A school that lives within its educational bubble, almost cultish in its way. Reading about the educational - teachers aid experience highlights the inclusive nature of the school, and the shaming of those trying to give it their best go. Parents feel the same. Internal and external struggles will continue, government money spent on this school is a waste, because staff simply don’t teach in ways to challenge the student, it’s not a thinking school, expectations of students from teachers on talking to parents is in most cases unknowingly to them low. Look around you may be surprised that your child can attend a mainstream school with better supports.

No more Concord is anybody tired of this school I think it’s very annoying there and so bad

This piece of shit school is so bad it deserves to go out of business, unless they hire more people who aren't ableist assholes and are competent at their jobs. Do not send your future children here, you're better off sending them to a good mainstream school with an aid.

Extremely happy my son no longer attends Concord school in Bundoora this special school doesn't focus on really helping students reach their full educational capacity. The school is only concerned with portraying a private school image with students having detention for not wearing full uniform. This is a special state school with substantial government funding to support all students to gain enough skills and knowledge that will help them further their education or get a job when they finish school. Stop making this school look good to deceive parents to enrol their child. Attention to all parents please find a mainstream school with your funding to get an aid to help them learn.

The Teachers at that school were always putting me down, and many others kids. Some of them now have trouble with Confidence. The one thing that needs to change is the Teachers Attitudes, why don’t you Teach all of your Students how to write Essays and Challenging mathematics. Then you get to see Their full potential, and so what if some of your students end going to a Mainstream school. Who knows They might end up doing really well at VCE, and then go to university, and next thing is Change the world and be a Inspiration to others with a disability. It’s not hard for anyone to Change Their way of thinking when it comes, to people with a Disability. Believe it or not there are a people out there in the community, who are Truly amazing not letting their disability get in the way of Achieving something fantastic. I had the privilege of meeting someone who I went to a support group with, she was Diagnosed with Bone cancer and Unfortunately lost her leg. When I first met her I found her Incredible, because she not only a leader, but someone who was always fun to be around and had an amazing out look on life. She never let anything stop her, not even her disability or the Constant pain she use to face just about every day. I hope someone in the Department of education, at Either State or Federal government Read this because this System is Broken and it needs to change. Please feel free to contact me Via email fintan.gannon@live.vu.edu.au If you Believe that the education system is broken for kids with special needs. Thank you for taking the time to read this, and I hope you have a wonderful day.

I am disappointed on how this school treated my son for the last 3 years. My son started there on the recommendation of camhs for his last year of upper primary. Due to domestic violence I had to pull my son out about in the last three weeks of the last term. I managed to talk and with the help of our domestic violence worker we were able to move closer back to concord as my son did have a wonderful experience in upper primary and he missed being their. But I didn't know that when my son started year 7 that things were going to get worse he had to go to school for half days when all he wanted was to go to school full time but concord would not do this at all until my son could prove himself and for him to gain trust of the teachers. In that time we were in a high security refuge sharing with other women and children who was attending school every day for full days and my son felt left out and it made him even more emotional it was hard for me even as I was the only parent that had to sit at the bus stop for three hours due to catching public transport as I wasn't allowed to sit in the school because of this school my sons mental and emotional health was neglected. My son got to the point where he broke down and cried saying I don't want to make or do anything with his life any more my son got other children to scratch him because he was so stressed out he said that it was the way he could stay happy while being at school this school really has to start listening to parents not every child is text book every child is different. My son left there this year and is at vsv really so much for this school being a school to help children who have autism and supposed to have expertise in all walks of different disabilites they should really take down the autism accreditation sign because it did absolutely nothing for my son. My lawyer is looking into this now all my sons rights was taken away for no reason what so ever

This school is a glorified day care centre for students. There are too many students attending this school that should be attending a mainstream school with an aide teacher not wasting the day socialising and wasting valuable educational funding.

If you're viewing this site it means you're not convinced this is the right school for your precious child. Well follow your gut feeling and look elsewhere. There's plenty of good schools out there always speak to other parents first they don't lie. No school will tell you they are shut.

Please to all parents with children within functioning special needs, find another scool besides Concord Bundoora school you will get a better education elsewhere. Unhappy parent speaking from years of experience.

Concord Bundoora school is only concerned with the level of funding you get when you enrol your child there. They promise you the world and give you nothing. They say that they provide individual student learning programs but it's all lies. You get poor education for your child and they don't support you if you ask for specialised assistance. Find a public school that you can better utilise your educational funding as you have more power towards any concerns you may face as most schools have a very small number of kids that need that extra help not a whole school that has 400 students that get the minimum amount of education required to meet the state educational

Speaking first hand from a parent that once had two children attend Concord Bundoora school, l removed one child because he showed learning potentially in Year 5 and the school faculty refused to assist with individual learning to enhance his hidden skills. Thanks to my stubbornness l took him out of Concord and used his educational funding elsewhere where they supported his learning. My child has been getting A and B grades for 4 years and we haven't looked back. Thanks you to all the great teachers and staff at Mill Park Secondary College for seeing beyond the disability and focussing on his abilities. Who knows he might even go to University.

This school has more moderate verging on severe intellectual disability than mild. My child suffers academically at this school because of other children who are out of control and teachers not teaching. If you want a daycare centre for your child this is the place to go.

Teachers and kids are rude. They get away with everything. I can’t even do my vet course so I had to move.

Did my placement at this school many years ago, and it was the worst experience I ever had. No support from the teacher who was supposed to be my mentor. I had an assignment which needed to be completed in 2 weeks on placement and as part of my assignment I was required to be paired up with a student but required the parents permission. One week through placement passed and she made no attempt to notify the parent of their child being paired up with me on placement or got their permission. This left me with only a week of completing the assignment which stressed me out. I decided to introduce myself to the parent and let them know that I was paired with their child as part of my assignment. Parent was not happy and Spoke to the teacher. This teacher Instead of approaching the situation in a professional manner in private, instead decided to humiliate me in front of her class and lecture how I am not allowed to speak to the parent and what I did was wrong. Broke down in front of the class cuase of the stress and the teachers incompetence. Spoke to someone from a higher position and she did not care how I was treated by the teacher or how I felt. Through the 2 weeks of my placement here, I recieved no apology, I had no support provided by the school and my so called mentor. I felt bullied and and treated unfairly. The so called mentor at that time may have moved on but the experience still leaves a sour taste to my mouth. I was studying to become a teachers aid at that time, but that has now changed. The school should better train their staff when accepting students on placement and provide the support required for the student while they’re there on placement.
