Have been attending under three years.
I am pretty happy with overall service from the school. The kindergarten teachers are fantastic and communication is prefessional, friendly and efficient.
In the primary school... The School Principal is great. My child doesn't use the toilet facilities because he says they are "too stinky". Some teachers tell and my child says they "hurt my ears".
Communication from teachers is good. I probably would like to see less sad stickers in my child's book to encourage positive learning instead.
Outdoor facilities are great and teachers are wonderful. Better assistance could be provided for teachers who have children with additional needs. My child is very distracted in class and a lot of time seems to be wasted because of the lack of SSO support in these higher needs classrooms.
Kitchen teacher is not trained in education and fails to keep good quality volunteers because of her regular use of profanity and impatience with the children.
Professional public announcement communications could also be improved; I'm not sure whether to check Facebook or Dojo half the time. Some things posted via Dojo aren't always accessible (e.g. can't always open PDF files), some things not clearly explained (e.g. 'Casual Day' did not if specify children can come dressed in casual clothes and/ or if monitary donations were required). Children with additional needs bullied my child in their reception year and it seems there is a lack of supervision (which seems to be needed, especially for children with additional needs).
My child and I felt very lost in our first year in primary school. There was no one really available to comfort/ support the children during recess and lunch (esp in their first term), to assist with settling in; they are just left alone with their little 5year old minds to figure out the jungle like environment.... all on their own.
Not saying this is the only school to do this... Just saying these are areas that can be improved to ensure children do actually become Powerful Learners.

As a parent of two students at this school, I have recently been frustrated by the non compliance from the staff to a parents concern over my child’s education and social welfare. Very disappointing and would never recommend this school to any parents looking for an “Educational” facility for their loved ones.

My children continue to enjoy attending Kilkenny primary school and seem to improve each year with their learning. Great approachable staff.
