This school has really gone downhill when the new principal started. So many kids are leaving before they get to year 6. I wouldn’t recommend this school to anyone.

I am going to holy cross glenwood right now as a year 6 student and I can say that it is a very good school and I haven’t had any bad lessons/ experiences. I surprised to see many hate comments. Maybe it was different before i started in kindergarten but all my years where fun and learning is nice, the teachers all give us equal attention but I mean there is lots of us so they can’t all be with us. But overall holy cross has been good for me but I don’t know about past staff/ teachers that have been there

My daughter has now started high school and there are at least 4 other kids from her year at Holy Cross that have now been diagnosed with learning difficulties.None were picked up at Holy Cross - they were considered average students there. Says it all really - could not recommend this school.

Holy cross is the worst. Teachers have favourites. Always same kids in Facebook posts and chosen to do stuff. They put in all this stuff, labs and tech but we don’t get to use it. Only for them to do their Facebook posts. I get no help from my teacher. I don’t do my work and they don’t care. I hate my school

Wow! I am blown away by some of these negative comments. My 2 children attend Holy Cross and I find it an amazing school. Our new principal started this year (2020) and she is fantastic. I love the way the school shares the student's learning on their Facebook page, it gives you a feeling of being included. Do yourself a favour and check it out!

This school either don’t know how to teach or are very bad academically.
At school interviews and reports Holy Cross advised my kid was doing well and hitting all benchmarks. Got testing done independently by speechie, and now by a new school. He was more that 2 years behind where he should be! Holy Cross thought he was above average
Do not recommend this school at all

The open learning approach encourages bullying. Instead of individualised teaching, Holy Cross do lots of group work. Most of the teachers are very young and are not mentored to effectively do this approach or actually teach the kids how to do group work together.
The kids are often left alone in their group to do their work resulting in fights between the kids or no work being accomplished ( which does not seem to bother the teachers).
Friendship groups in my kids years were highly segmented, resulting in many fights and bullying. The culture of the school seems to encourage this - emphasis on we are all the same rather than acceptance of difference.
School carnivals are business like. I saw kids get in trouble for standing up and cheering at the last one I attended. I felt sad and disappointed for the kids - there was no fun at all.
Don’t know what is happening behind the scenes, but most teachers (not all but many) seemed to lack school spirit. I certainly did not get the sense they had passion for teaching or were happy to be there.
Glad my kids are out of there. There have been a number of families move out of the school for the above reasons and an inability of the leadership to provide adequate support for the kids who need it.

This school broke my son. I did not realise how bad the school was until I moved him and saw how learning support is supposed to work.
Don’t be fooled by the high tech approach they market. They use outdated literacy teaching methods like balanced literacy that encourage kids to guess words rather than decode. My son is now having to be untaught what he learnt there.

Absolutely horrible! I wanted to change for so long, but my parents never let me. Not that I’m finally out I can’t wait to say the truth about this hell school! Even though the school is very good with teaching their children how to use technology, the education for everything is disgraceful. Not to mention all the teachers I’ve had are biased except for maybe two. Also, they don’t take bullying seriously at all. I was getting bullied on a daily basis and instead of trying to sort out the issue, they would just seperate us or have a “talk” with the grade, which only led to more people bullying me. If you care about your children’s self esteem or education, do NOT send them here. I’m so happy I’m finally out, best feeling ever.

I love this school. I highly recommend this school for students want to achieve a goal. Students will be cared for and tutored well. The attitude and the tendency of helping others is out of my world. Highly recommend this for your kids. They will improve on a week.

It's absolutely horrible. My daughter moved to caddies creek and surprisingly her academic records has improved. Holy cross ends later than most schools but still can't cater to my child's needs.i hate this holy cross I myself am mad at myself for sending her there!

This school does not care for academic excellence.
Their open learning policy lack structure & discipline.
Teachers were unwilling to help when told that my child was struggling with their style of teaching maths.
Many times homework & guided reading books was repeated for multiple weeks.
Basically this school is only interested in receiving fees & fundraising.
DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD HERE IF YOU CARE ABOUT THEIR FUTURE!
