Why is this school allowed to remain open with such bad educational results? The reviews are very negative as are the ratings.

This Bentleigh West School is low on education, such as NAPLAN in MATHS and English, the school although is a 5-Star Environment with the saving water and picking up rubbish. The IT of this school is shocking with Windows 8 Lapotop, but they have increased it by bringing Year 5 and 6 having there personal laptop for educational stuff. The IT still needs to be improved. At Bentleigh West Primary School, the Sport is increasingly disgusting, with the interschool sport teams always last. Bentleigh West Primary School have sacked many teachers for abusive and harrasment. Come On? Who Would Do That! Bentleigh West Primary School have close Music Lessons, and Italian the 2nd last specialist. Once you get in Year 5 and 6 you don't even learn Italian Language, you learn Italian People not Italian Language, In Prep, Year 1,2,3,4, you barely learn anything but colours and numbers. The most happiest thing at this school is the Media Arts, it is the only Media Arts Lesson in Victoria, which is very lucky for us. We have Nice Computers with a CPU of an i5 intel, and it has computers with the whole of Adobe Creative Cloud, including InDesign and Photoshop and more, Media Arts allow the student to feel like an actor or computer programmer. I still remember when I used to get bullied, the teachers didn't even care for one single second. The Teachers are always strict. You always redo the education there, that's why the NAPLAN scores are so low. The Library has barely any books and people don't want to reread them again, so they should buy new books, and so for the Cow Giveaway Posters giving away $5000, with the first 100 entries, if you do the Maths in your head,considering that you have to pay $100 to recieve a raffle, it is a total gamble, The School are recieveing more money, collecting about $10000 money in cash, which I gurantee there going to use on the teachers, not the school. Just give the students a snack for godness sake. I know the students are sometimes naughty but sometimes it can be the staff's fault that just blames on other people. The Bullying and teasing is extremely high, and noone cares about the victim that is being abused. One time a teacher call Mrs.Tait, called some class rude languages which personalizes to harrasment and abusive language, later on, gladly, she got sacked. Now the staff have changed to a more friendly adult, although some people don't understand. The Teachers think that they're right. The laptops are cheap, and a bit rubbish. There are some good side effects to the school though, people pick up rubbish for the environment. Although if you want to get in a scholarship or a selective school that has very high reputation, NEVER go to Bentleigh West Primary School for education, it is only good for the social people, not for the people that have big brains and are smart, Bentleigh West are poor and trash, they think they are good and stuff, but they are clearly not. In the Year 5 NAPLAN Ranking of Victiora, our rank was 543 in Maths. I rate this School poor for my final descision.

Bentleigh West is a school where the education and expectation are very high, such as uniform, bullying and stuff like that. The staff are very nice, kind and mindful of education. Even though the NAPLAN was bad, i still believe this school is a good school

The previous administration before Jennifer Small did next to nothing to address the mediocre teaching practices at this school. I asked for a transfer as I could no longer tolerate the mediocrity of this place. It seems nothing has changed. The students deserve better.

Bentleigh West is great if you want a social club school but as for the education its nexts to 0

This school has gone through a number of changes in teaching methods over the years. What it did do well, it excelled in. However academic achievement and effective handling of bullying were not included. Children who were confident, self reliant and self learners performed well, but you might assume that to be the case in any environment. The open learning areas are an interesting concept for example, but a failure for many children who find them noisy and distracting. This year however there has been a marked change in direction and we have high hopes that these issues are now being addressed. Sadly not soon enough for our kids, but the outlook is a lot more positive for the future. Although there are some teachers you might want to avoid, I expect that is the case in many schools - and there are a number of very dedicated and skilled teachers working there. For these reasons I would grade the school itself better than average now, so 'good', with hopes that it will continue to improve.
