Our experience at OLA school was a traumatic nightmare . They are as follows;
1.very low level of education ,such as poor teaching,outdated curriculum and inadequate resources
2.students are treated unfairly example ;
my child was coming back home and asking why principal never smiles to him or if he walks with XYZ he only acknowledges 'xyz' !''never to me and never smiles to me.
Kids are asking ''why we are always cut of any photos on the school website?
We are talking about kids age 6-8 years old.This just couple of examples.
3.communication with parents was horrible.
They will call you multiple times a day to let you know there is issue as your child he/she was unpacking school bag to long or sitting in the bathroom to long (you are professional, deal with small issue and if you can't maybe you are not the right person to do the job ? What are you expecting me to do while I'm at work?),
but when you ask them about medical report after school incident which included head injury you will never get reply.
4.Biggest issue at this school for us was the school is prone to incidents of violence and bulling which is never addressed. It was the tipping point , we decided we need to remove our children as soon as possible for my childrens well-being.
No child should have to endure such treatment.Their responsibility is to provide a safe and nurturing environment for it's students.
We decided to post this review online to make sure parents are aware before making a cructial decision to send their child there as it is a big thing to move schools mid way.The issue which we raised are known to the community and cannot be ignored ,silenced or removed it is independent website and OLA managment can't manipulate it.
We would encourage anyone to speak out here to make sure everyone is aware of the type of issues occuring for your childrens sake.

We appreciate all feedback from our community and would very much welcome you to be in contact with the school to discuss the issue that you have raised. We encourage our families to make direct contact with us at any time rather than sharing important feedback such as this through an online portal.

We were not prepared for the degree of politics, power plays, sabotage, and just…evil…we experienced.Not to add low level of education, homework never corrected by teachers.Teachers can’t control students to run classes. The place is a mess.
Feedback /Complaints Policies and Procedures will fall on deaf ears. You will never receive any offical correspondence to your feedback or complaints in writing .
Their marketing is based on promoting what the school offers but there is no proof or promotion of the kids achievements .The best teachers have left and been replaced by inexperienced graduates.
Composite classes are created because they can’t get enough students to create full class so if you child is a high achiever or not academically inclined your child will fall through the cracks of their systems and processes in their teaching. The principal is more interested in posting private family photos of his family on the schools promotional pages rather than school kids successes. They will pick and choose kids strategically for promotional things they do if they like you but pushed to he side if not.
As the saying goes, the fish rots from the head!

My overall experience was disappointing.
The staff were not inspirational and didn't really nurture or encourage love of learning. They don't really care about your academic progress.

i agree with these comments. That sums it up about an overly priced school. Not much value for money.

Does not addressing bullying and doesn’t accelerate smart children. Focus is just on making kids fit the mold. Time for the principle to go. She is the key to a lot of the problems. Watching many families leave the school and not as many enrol. Too many composite classes also add to the woes.

Class sizes too big and all grades blended except prep (ie 1/2, 3/4, 5/6).
Biggest disappointment is mandatory ipads ($300 per year) which they seldom use in class and I do not believe enhance students learning (unless being a master at Minecraft etc will help them in the real world). Many families leaving, and a high percentage of the boys that go through to St Bedes are put into the Beacon program to get them up to speed. Redeeming features are a handful of lovely teachers. Could benefit from a change of Principal, however this is locked in for another few years.
I'm , rate this school
