We couldn't speak more highly of Ghilgai and its beautiful community. Have a look at the testimonials from students and parents on their website and that will demonstrate the quality of this school. Our kids loved it!

Ghilgai is a beautiful intimate school with a respectful and kind community. My children are thriving because the Steiner Education Ghilgai provides includes content rich main lessons which they love, music, song and beauty in their work and care & respect for their whole being. The pulse of this school is one of learning, grace and flow.

Ghilgai is an exceptional School, my years at Ghilgai shaped me into the successful person I am today. As a parent, I will be sending my children to Ghilgai when they reach School age.
Thank you to all the wonderful teachers at Ghilgai.

Our children have thrived at Ghilgai. The teachers are dedicated to the children's education and wellbeing. We feel blessed to have found Ghilgai.

Ghilgai has been a wonderful school for my daughter. We have had fantastic teachers who have been able to bring out her best through her whole time there.
The other children at the school seem very creative, happy and friendly. I cannot recommend Ghilgai highly enough.

I have a child at this school currently, who has had some difficulty socially. The care and attention given to this situation by teachers was extraordinary.
Ghilgai has a very high standard of work also.

My child has received an education that has the wonderful, creative aspects that are inherent in Steiner education, with a solid academic grounding. He has been well prepared for (mainstream) high school. Well worth it.

My kids love this school. Our youngest wants to go on the weekends! If you do want to get a feel for the school, try visiting (or at least try facebook.) It's really a wonderful community of dedicated teachers and caring parents.
ps 13 Oct : A huge exaggeration at best, I'd say.

I have had 3 children go to this school and can say they received an excellent schooling . I believe the people who placed the negative reviews are ones who basically ,love to gossip and find their strength in associating with others of like mind. It is sad that small cliques can be so united and hell bent on spreading this negativity and will continue to do so where ever they go, due to the fact they like their children only like to have their own way.

This school was utterly shocking for my children. It seems some children and parents love the school, however if you are considering sending your child here beware. The behaviour of some of the students here was utterly shocking. There was constant bullying, including very physical and violent behaviour toward particular children, that was left unchecked. This school took a huge physical, emotional, and financial toll on our family and we are so glad to be free of it.

I'm a parent with good insight to the school and can say that the facts that parent form April 6 does not know what they are talking about...

This school is fine. Very experienced teachers who think about the needs of each child, and care very much for all of them. Something went wrong for seone on April 9th though! :)

My children are cared for and supported to reach their potential at Ghilgai. The curriculum is appropriate for their stages of development and encourages them to be very creative. The art and craft the children produce here is truely amazing.

I have read some crap in my time but these reviews take the cake. I have no complaints about the school. I am not an alternative lifestyle parent, and I can say my kids get better attention and care than any government school. Go and see for yourself.

I dont know what these parents are talking about. My two children are happy and I am happy. I am not an "alternative lifestyle parent". I care very much about the quality of education my kids get. The teachers are approachable and listen. Its a small school but I know the attention they get here is better than any government school.

This school lost 28+ children in 2015. Half the children in one class alone were withdrawn by parents. Bullying is rife, there are numerous children throughout presenting ASD and ADD, adding to this there are alternative lifestyle parents whom don't teach their children boundaries. The school have no policies or training in place to deal with special needs children. This school was hell for my child and many others whom left were devastated by what they endured.
The teachers are accountable to no one which makes the whole situation there at present much worse.
This school is in crisis, beware.

I was a student at Ghilgai from playgroup to grade 6, i found it to be an awesome place to be child and i believe that the enviroment is fantactic for developing individuality, however i STRUGGLED to keep up with my classmates in year 7 through to year 12 i had a much lower level of reading writing and maths, myself and brother and sister repeated a year of high school. I would NOT send my child through a Stiener education. It is a fast pased, competitive world out there and stiener is stuck in the passed!

I used to go to ghilgai but left around the time our teacher had a mental breakdown and was ended up put into psychiatric care.
There was also a suicide by one of the employees on the school grounds.
Some odd stuff went on there, keep your radar on if you chose to send your children here.

When i left Ghilgai in year 5 i discovered that i could not keep up with the allocated work that was given to us, this is because at Ghilgai they do not teach there students a high enough level of English, science, maths and humanities. The only reason that i managed to get through year six without repeating was because me teachers where nice and understood the fact that i did no many of the things that was required.

I am a student who used to go to Ghilgai and after I left and went to high school I found it very hard to keep up with the rest of the other students because at Ghilgai they teach at a much slower pace to public schools. Many of my friends had to actually repeat year 6 just so they could be up to date with everyone else.

I am a parent of a child in Class 4 at Ghilgai. In response to the previous comment, all children in Class 4, 5 and 6 are all reading, writing and academically extremely capable. Reading begins in Class 2 and all students are proficiently reading novels by Class 3.
As far as Steiner Education goes, this school is far more "advanced" academically than any other Steiner school I have come across.
By Parent - 26 Apr 2013, Rate: poor
I was horrified to discover that many students in classes 4, 5, and 6 are still unable to read and write nor perform basic maths.

This school completely ignores academics, and isn't great at developing children wholistic ally either.
I'm , rate this school
