My daughter has attended this School, for the last 7 years, and she has excelled. We don't donate any money to the School and all of her achievements have come through hard work. The majority of the teachers have been fantastic for my daughter and have found the support by Heads of Faculty and Heads of Year to be well above other schools she has attended. If you as a parent are happy to be accountable, and instill accountability into your daughter, then you will thrive here. The one thing that I see that does not compete with the previous school she attended, is the lack of support/engagement by parents at Parent Information seminars. It is not unusual to see only 6 parents at information seminars at St Hilda's. The worst was when there was only 2 at a session (me and another person). This is in stark contrast to the parent engagement at the other school, where the hall would be filled with approx 200-300 people at school information sessions. As with anything in life, I believe you will get out what you put in. The School may not be for everyone, but it has been a great fit for our daughter. Final thoughts, As with any large corporation, there has seemed to be some leadership challenges from the top for the last few years, but as I said earlier, the dedication from the majority of the teachers has been second to none.

Absolutely disgusted with this school. My daughter has been bullied relentlessly by students and teachers including her head of year. My daughter was also beaten up and had her stuff broken (water bottle etc which she also had someone tip the whole bottle over her head) she has been accused of so many things by her head of year and teachers who think its their right to tell your child that she is stupid and then make fun of the way she writes or does things. My daughters head of year is a mother herself yet treats the children like dogs and give them punishments for small things like having writing on their hand. For your own Childs health and mental state DO NOT send your kid here you will regret it and your child will never be the same. She won't be the same happy kid you've always known. She will become a depressed, Anxiety ridden, extremely quiet kid who if you don't get help (my daughter sees a therapist several times a week to try and get over what happened to her) will end up breaking and could be in forms of self harm or attempting (both my daughter has tried all because of this horrible school) please keep your children safe and far away from this school.

We removed our daughter from this school after the first year, she was interested in "Speech and Drama" classes suggested by her teacher to get her involved in acting. We paid $510 for one on one acting classes but her teacher only arrived for 6 of them. I complained to the relevant department heads but they just argued against me, saying how lucky we were to have such an accomplished teacher for our child. So in the end it was $510 for 3/9 classes. It was amazing how they made us feel like we were the problem...??? I was told by a few ex-parents the problem lies with the top. They are more concerned about their money supply than anything else. Go somewhere else for your childs sake.

Terrible School, avoid. My daughter was there a few years ago and moved elsewhere after 2 years too long. They don't care about anything other than academics. I wanted her to experience camaraderie and team work in her sports but there was none. Its not fun coming last in every game and then coaches don't respond and solve problems because they simply don't care. And the haughty arrogant executive heads will smile and listen and then forget you had even talked to them. Repugnant people.

I am a parent. My daughter went to St Hilda's for 14 years from pre-prep to year 12. I have nothing but praise for the school. The teachers were great in every year and the school created a brilliant learning environment for the students. The reason I chose St Hilda's in the first place was because after researching I discovered that girls learn better in a single sex school which has been proven correct in my daughter's case. I strongly recommend enrolling your daughter from pre-prep and she will build up a life long network which will benefit her in many years to come.

I guess the school can't please everyone.
My daughter is at St Hildas for 7 years now
She is happy and all other girls who we know are happy. The school is very supportive. I have never been chased for donation.

After 5 years I finally listened to my daughter and withdrew her from St Hilda's. Her last year there she was miserable and it was heartbreaking dropping her off at School in the mornings. Very disappointed in the teachers on the whole, of course there are some good teachers but 3/5 were terrible. Sport is absolutely hopeless, many coaches are parents who have their favorites and team choices are extremely unfair, so there are hardly any sports that go past the A or B teams in one age group. The school tells you they have great community...we didn't see that at all, except with a core group of parents who seemed to control the School.
Overall a huge expensive disappointment.

Disappointed.
We had two girls going through.
Needs more integrity and fairness.Same rules need to be applied to all students.Very much a Gold Coast image where looks and names matter.
Would not recommend it for students of colour.

I like St Hildas and been there for 10 years now. It's a good school however there are some very mean girls and are very arrogant.

At St Hilda's I had only received bad experiences since day one. The majority of the people within my year group were unfriendly and I did not feel welcomed in the slightest. My head of year had assigned me with an incompetent buddy who I had barely seen after the first day. Ever since the first week was over I had slowly started to realise how much I had downgraded from my previous school to when I came to St Hilda's. Apart from the social side of things, I feel as if the school handled things unprofessionally. Their assemblies were immature and were conducted without class. Certainly, the culture of the school is particularly imperfect and unimpressive. Although, they do continuously say that the tone of the school is one of their trademarks. Ha, yeah right. My advice is to not listen to one word they say until you first-hand experience the tone of their school. Like I did, and oh how I wish I could forget all the memories St Hilda's school has implanted in my brain.
The only thing that is semi-commendable about St Hilda's is the new Jennifer Reeves building. It is quite a nice place to learn in and offers a modern environment for all their students. Too bad I wasn't there to experience it but my sister has, however she is moving to Emmaunel as she too has had a hard time at St Hilda's.
In this case, the bad certainly outweighs the good. And I do not recommend this school for your daughters. Yes, I may have been in a bad year group and your daughters may be in a better one. But my advice is, is to not take the risk. I have heard a lot of other people who have been in the exact same situation as me when they were at the school. And turns out, every single one of them liked the school that they moved to after it.
If I had the chance to move out of the school, I would have. But my mother refused to move me and I stuck it out until the end of year 12.

Unless you have heaps of money to donate, don't bother with this school. Along with the ridiculously high fees, you're supposed to aimlessly donate money to this and that.
I'll give you an example: rowing. So in my last year of school there, I was in one of the worse teams, a victim of the enforced co-curricular activities. So we just played around and had, for the most of it, fun. There were these two girls who were acctually quite upset that they got landed in the last group. So, by donating a huge amount of money to a new boat, they somehow magically got put into the first team. So if you like to be good in school without trying, go to this school with bucket loads of money you want to spend on useless activities.
So basically, the rule of this school is if you donate, you can do anything. Bully two girls out of school and get middle school captain the next year? Of course! Obviously cheat on a test? You poor girl, here's an extra 10 minutes on every test. A couple of weeks ago a girl was expelled for drugs, even though there were two girls found with them. So, it's your choice if you want to go to this school.
Also, if you want an easy scholarship, most of the questions on the test are the same as free online papers.

I rate is bad because it it too expensive i am now a student at labrador state school because my parents cannot afford it i also have 4 siblings.Also they are quite harsh and nobody gets any free time with boarding because you are always doing extra curriculum and sports you will never enjoy.I hope some of you will consider labrador state school and not ST Hildas.also st hildas didn't improve my reading writing or health.
