i hate it here don’t send your child here this school will ruin their life
By Alumnus - 23 Aug 2023, Rate: excellent
A photo of mine was shared around the school (Ik bad choice of mine but I was 14 and clueless) the principal threatened to show my dad. She asked other students to send it to her..lololol she then suggested to my dad I drop out so he decided I would drop out at the end of the year. Years later everyone’s fav PE teacher messaged me on Instagram asking for photos thinking it was okay since i had turned 18 at this point and was no longer in school. I asked him why he didn’t work at the school anymore and he said he had been transferred and didn’t tell me why. I later found out that it was because he was messaging my friends younger sisters friend inappropriately. She was 14 at the time. Lovely to know this school doesn’t care about child predators and chooses to transfer them to other schools instead of holding them accountable x

From my experience at this school I feel like they push you to your limits most of the time, to the point where you have to neglect your own mental health to make room for a higher grade. To add on, I've noticed a lot of teachers leave from the past year and the school has struggled to keep up, this has caused a few electives to not run due to the lack of teachers present for it to work smoothly. A close friend of mine mentioned their grade had to create a petition so that they could go on an excursion because they've been neglected for the past 2 years, whilst all the other grades were treated to places like luna park, taronga zoo, raging waters, etc... How the school is for you really depends on your year advisor nowadays, so if you want to gamble on that, join the school !
PS- If your interested in joining clubs at this school, they're BARELY advertised, and if they are, they're usually at max capacity.
Also, WHO MAKES THEIR SPORT UNIFORM LOOK LIKE A WOOLWORTHS EMPLOYEE UNIFORM??
By Parent - 12 Aug 2022, Rate: bad
Horrendous is an understatement. This school falsely claims to care about the students’ mental health when in reality, all they care about is your attendance and the strict school uniform policy.

teachers should really check students homework in front of the whole class. That's what won't feed procrastination.

I think Ms Hammoud is great and she’s a very good English teacher. Other than that, the other teachers are not good at all in my opinion.

The canteen seems to be getting better. The science department keeps losing their best teachers, Miss Lakshmi for example, Miss Boulos is the only science teacher capable of communicating and teaching currently. The other teachers try but aren’t very good, especially Mrs Ford, keeps going off topic when she teaches and doesn’t even have a proper teaching schedule???
By Student - 01 Jul 2021, Rate: bad
Yeah I agree that majority of the teachers are terrible at disciplining the kids. I think putting rules in place and having more consequences are the best way to fix this problem because the students are simply just wild (well, in my cohort they are) and I personally don't think that the teachers are trained well enough and capable of handling them. We need new legal and science teachers as well! If you decide to choose legal or/and science in year 11 and 12 (specifically physics), you NEED to go to tutoring or get extra help otherwise you are screwed and you might as well consider your atar ruined. I'm not sure why they hired some of the teachers that work here because I am almost certain that there are MUCH better teachers out there.
By Student - 27 Jun 2021, Rate: poor
As a year 11 student, ensuring I get the best atar possible is my goal. All my teachers are very willing to help and they spend extra time to give me feedback or explain concepts that I didn’t understand in class. (However, if you decide to choose PDHPE as a subject, I highly recommend that you ask the deputy to avoid putting you into Mrs Ibrahim's class as my whole class and I can agree that she isn’t a great teacher; regurgitates everything from power points and text book (word by word), hands out a ridiculous amount of work sheets and expects you to finish it in a very little amount of time, constantly crams in a lot of work that she had forgotten to teach a few days before an exam (for the past two terms, she crammed three weeks worth of content into one week), and her english is very bad so its very difficult to ask for feedback or for further explanations when something is confusing. My class and I find ourselves self-studying this subject because we find it hard to understand her and her teaching style is not suitable for us - we have tried asking her to change but her english is simply just too bad to communicate with her. PDHPE is a VERY content heavy subject and our results would be much better if we had a better teacher. She however is a VERY sweet lady with a motherly nature but for someone who is taking her senior year very seriously, I am not happy with her teaching style and our communication barriers. The reason why I rated this school poorly is because majority of the girls in my cohort are very rude and naughty as they aren’t disciplined by the teachers. They tend to muck around in class which will in turn, drag all our atars down. When I speak about this to my friends who go to Fort Street for example, they rarely have problems with these kinds of ‘drop kick girls’ - I’m guessing because the teachers are able to discipline the students much better than our school. If you put bad teachers in charge, you will get bad students as a result of that. If you want your daughter to exceed and have many opportunities when she leaves high school, I recommend that you send her to a more academic school where she’ll be surrounded by students who are driven, motivated and not drop kicks as you don't want to risk your daughter turning into the majority of the girls that come here - girls that are into drugs, boys, parties, etc. The bad girls influence the good girls and the good girls become bad in order to fit in and bad teachers result in bad students.

The canteen could be better.
It’s way too expensive than it should be a small pastry is 4.50, we’re students not adults.
The school is getting better slowly.
The toilets are better than they were before. The uniforms are still in the grey area (good and bad).
Some good teachers, some bad.
Excursions I haven’t seen much and I had a science teacher teaching in language class. If they do they should offer selections to the year 7s on what language they want to learn the school needs more organisation. The library is fantastic! Although one downside is I’ve requested a book plenty of times, I still haven’t seen it in the library. My friend got the book she requested though. The teachers only give you extra help if you go up to them. This is because some students behave badly and those who want to achieve have to grasp the opportunity. A lot of students don’t bring books to class when the teachers have labelled it a requirement. I understand they may have a problem at home or some other reason but please honestly I’ve even heard some teachers that they’d give those students their own books and the teachers have, but the students still barely bring it to school. During tests some students call out to each other to ask for the answer half-way through the class and the teacher for some reason still doesn’t give a zero. Some teachers should be more strict. There should be a school policy where if the students hand in things late, 1 day late is 10% of marks taken off and etc... To learn, us students need to have things at risk, so we can understand at least to some extent how it is important. Most teachers barely check homework. This is feeding my procrastination ability.

The school has improved immensely in the past few years. I have seen the change happen and can see the positive impact on my daughters. The school is welcoming and happy. At the recent open night the girls promoted the school and shone. It is clear they are happy students.
I highly recommend the school for girls in this area. A strong focus on personal goals and growth, leadership, social justice and sport.

I am a teacher at East Hills Girls Technology High School. The staff are wonderful, enthusiastic and driven. I would send my own children there. If you are in the catchment area, or local, your daughter would love this school and benefit immensely. The new principal is outstanding, and has brought staff together in the past few years and improved all facets of the school. There is a strong focus on student and staff well-being. It is the most professional, welcoming school I have worked in during my long career.

I have had three daughters attend East Hills Girls Tech. One stills attends in Year 11. They have all had an excellent education and experience at the school. The new principal is loved by the girls and very accommodating to the needs of the girls at the school. I would highly recommend girls in the area attend this school. Ignore any bad reviews on this site.

i am a student currently in this school and let me say, i do not recommend it. the teachers are very bad and honestly, most girls here really don’t care about their education and brings other girls down. during the time i’ve been here, i haven’t learnt anything at all. i really regret coming to this school and wishes to change schools but unfortunately it might be a little late to do so. please take my advice and do not come to this school if you want a school that teaches you things and wants excellent education. i also advice the school to go through your employees and see if they actually teach your students stuff or not. especially their personality, as i personally find that teachers without a good personality cannot teach very good and so then the students doesn’t feel like learning anymore

My daughter attended this school and I do not recommend it. She came home daily crying about bullying and I took the appropriate action with the school and they did nothing! On paper what they said to her sounded amazing but failed to hold up their end of the bargain. The school stunk of the sewer constantly and the bathrooms were overflowing with sanitary products. I will say this - if you are looking for a great school to teach your daughter amazing things; this is not the school.
By Parent - 27 Jun 2018, Rate: bad
My daughter is in year 9 and has received so much bullying to the point she is now extremely unwell the girls are so rude and mean I have never come across anything like this before. I am currently trying to get her in another school as the school simply doesn’t do anything about bullies which is most of the school. The bullying continues on social media and is destroying my daughters life she doesn’t want us to intervene as she says it just get worse . She’s continually looking over her shoulder even out of school. It is breaking our hearts to see what this school is doing to our daughter absolutely disgusting students and teachers they are unbelievably so rude to the kids . My husband really wants to take this matter further but my daughter gets so upset and refuses saying it will make her life hell . I strongly suggest taking a long hard thing before sending your child here as it truly can destroy them mentally a physically it’s so hard and breaking our hearts. We have to younger daughters and will definitely not be going anywhere near this place . I really can not believe the people who attend this school my daughter was a high achiever and now it’s a struggle every day just to get her there . They promote anti bullying and take no action at all have truly failed my child and she is one of many .

i have read all the reviews that people have written, and i would like to say
the toilets are disgusting because of the girls who don’t wrap up their pads or tampon properly. yes it’s the cleaners job to clean the toilets but put yourself in their shoes, would you clean up a random persons pad or tampon? everyone complains about the toilets but they don’t think about the cause of it, it’s not the cleaners fault it’s a trash, if you want a clean toilet, then wrap up your bloody pads and tampons.
also, people complaining about not having mufti day. our school would actually have so many mufti days due to how many fundraisers we do, but the reason why we don’t have mufti day is because the girls wear inappropriate clothing which will create a bad impression in the public.

I was so worried that this wasn't going to be a good school for my children, but I was proved wrong. I am happy with the amount of homework students are receiving. Although, the exams and assignments are all due on the same week. This is very disappointing, as they also have homework to complete on top of exams and assignments.

My child is overloaded with homework, exams and assessments. She has no free time whatsoever. Also she has informed me how horrible the stench in this school is. Additionally i would like to say you should immensely improve on disciplining the disruptive students.

i mean for the past few years this school was TERRIBLE but now the old principal is gone the school is getting better like we never used to get excursions but now we have 2 as soon as the old principal left and this year we got early days and they arent strict on uniforms anymore so yeah i do not have enough current experience of this year to give a definite ranking but its starting to get better.

the school is terrible, the teachers don't teach you anything, if you want to do well I have some advice for you. first of all, this school is very unsanitary and the bathrooms are disgusting with pads and tampons and toilet paper everywhere on the floor and walls. secondly, none of the teachers can teach except for like two and most are extremely rude and annoying, thank god mrs necyporuk retired and we are getting a new principal! third and finally, don't sit in other people's spot or you're a goner, find somewhere else and be aware. if you want to send your daughter to this school where we have to wear tablecloths as dresses and the jumpers aren't warm enough and are itchy, please rethink your decision!

we get literally NO excursions or mufti days. i hate it here.
By Student - 15 Mar 2017, Rate: bad
This school is terrible. Built on top of a sewer so it always stinks, bathroom is super unsanitary, not enough seats so people sit on pathways. Certain "popular" girls are rude to you if you piss them off just once and there is always drama. Most teachers are old and angry, throwing work at you without explaining and then going on their laptops for the whole lesson. We only got early days this year and they're only twice a week. Uniforms are super uncomfortable and ugly, and our "jumpers" don't even keep us warm and itch. All the classrooms are old and hardly any air conditioners work. If you're thinking of sending your daughter to this school because its an all girls school-- FORGET IT. There's a boy school right across the road who wait in front of the girls school at home time for girls to come out. Girls always muck around in class and disrupt others learning and the teachers do nothing about it. Girls in older grades bully and intimidate you just for being in a lower grade. You'll find some great teachers, but most are bad. If you want your daughter to do well in life, DON'T SEND THEM HERE.
By Parent - 13 Mar 2017, Rate: bad
the school is getting new principal so don't worry. miss necyporuk has retired and we are finally getting a new principal!
most of the teachers and all the canteen ladies are very rude and disrespectful to students. the work is very hard and the students with special needs such as autism or something like that, get the work and tests and assignments changed for them which very unfair for the other students who work hard and waste their weekends doing the hard stuff.
please consider before sending your daughter here.

Finishing year 7, I've realised how little I've learnt. The schools internet rarely ever works. (would be a miracle if the internet worked for more than 10 minutes) I rarely have any work to do because of this internet problem. Our schools education is based on technology but the tech never works. If this school is based on tech then we should have the best technology in store ! The computers are old, dusty, slow and broken, the music instruments are broken, the classrooms (especially the music rooms) are messy and cluttered and extremely dangerous because of the cords, the classrooms are smelly, humid in summer (no aircon or fans), smart boards do not work and there is NO shelter at lunch or recess. This year has felt extremely un organised. We have never been on excursions. (except for sport excursions to the gym) Canteen food is very unhealthy. School built on top of a sewer. bathrooms and filled with dangerous bugs. Very desorgasined. Unhygienic. Cleaners do not clean properly. Very dirty. Principal rarely visits. Winter uniform is not comfortable and suitable for the weather. Not enough stationary for the kids. And the list keeps going on lol k bye

My daughter tells me she has lots of friends and her teachers really try to help her do well. She complained sometimes it was difficult to concentrate in class because some of the other girls don't want to study and disrupt the class. Perhaps some of these girls require additional assistance or coaching to understand the value of their education to their futures. I also commend the use of technology at East Hills Girls, the use of Ipads and applications such as Showbie as I know of other schools in Australia and overseas also using the similar applications. Our children need to be equipped for the current work environment when they leave school or when they go onto further study.

Mrs irene which is the support teacher for sarah and kylah in year 8 is supposed to be in the classroom to take care of sarah and kayla but what she does is walk around and tells us to do stuff. I think this school needs to treat us all the same and i think its a bad school and needs mew canteen ladies and new teachers

If parents want their daughter to:
- have a brilliant Atar
- perform well in the HSC
- make good friends
- top classes
- have a good future
- or simply to just go to a good school...
THEN DO NOT SEND YOUR DAUGHTER TO THIS SCHOOL. Everyone is rude, the students and lots of time that the teachers are cowards, they are letting students ruin their classes and make learning difficult for other students who want to learn. If you don't believe this just look at how the students behave if you drive past the school, ITS ABSOLUTELY PATHETIC AND DISGUSTING!
I highly recommend to send your child to a selective school, specifically a school that is in the top 100.

I would rather watch BOKU NO PICO for 6 hrs straight than go to this school. My name is Ah.
If you're reading this right now, don't stop or you'll die.
I've been diagnosed with cancer now because one day at school these girls locked me into a room with boku no pico playing on replay. I'm a ghost now. That happened 6 years ago but I still can't forget what happened.
Once a girl called Abigail saw this, she laughed at it saying "this will never happen" but now I have her locked in my basement. I can still hear the boku no pico opening playing. A boy named Jimmy listened so now I protect him from the ugliness (or sao) of this world.
If you send this to 15 people right now so you will still have a chance to live or you can die instead.

I'm a student at this school and although many people criticise this school as horribly bad or amazing, I personally had a great experience. They use technology very well and the teachers are excellent and teach with a passion. Some people can be bullies but everyone sticks up for you and tells the bullies off, some girls who used to be bullies have learnt their ways and are much more respectful to the other girls bow. currently i'm in yr 9 of this school and i've seen how people criticise the school as terrible or highly amazing but personally from past and current year i was there the teachers were great they tend to offer help each student with understanding the criteria. Yes last year the yr 10 girls were and can be bullies but the students defend for each other and tell them off. The teachers there also learn a few things from the students themselves. They recognise their students abilities. The school has many opportunities for everyone we just need to go for it. Students stand up for each other. though from time to time they might talk about boys but that's just habit of growing up. My teachers always tell the students a quote or saying in each lesson such as self worth, teamwork, revise and we can be different and unique.

It's good, but it depends on what teachers you have, most are really good, but some just give you a worksheet to spend a whole week on, and they either play a game on their ipad or just stare at you from their desk.

This school is really good with sport and visual arts that's all.

This school is alright but they don't have real teachers , for science they give us a sport teacher and for language they give us a Japanese teacher when we are learning french ! And we just have to copy out of a text book ! The year 11 and 12 don't have any teachers because they are running short so they are just left in a class room.
The classes are unorganized there are really disruptive people and that distract the people that really want to learn and the teachers don't to anything about it.
The canteen staff are so rude and the food is disgusting the only thing they sell this chips ice cream and pies and fatty pastries and it's so expensive.
Our summer uniform is thick and our winter uniform is thin... The summer uniform looks like tea towels.
Classes are out of control teachers leave the class room whenever they want !
The school is good with sport but never ever gives excursions the school is so cheap when we have tests we can't even write on the paper because we have to share them around how expensive is it to print paper !
This school says that it pushes girls to do their best but they don't care they just throw you into the deep end to do it your self
Some teachers are really loyal while others treat students like were a piece of meat.
There is a lot of swearing and corruption in this school.
I can say that the school is really good with technology. But I don't recommend it.

I was a former student of East Hills Girl Technology High School and I love every single minute of it. Mrs Necyporuk treat everyone equal. Without Mrs Necyporuk and Mrs Liamakeros (english teacher) I would never be where I am today. I would strongly recommend east hills girls technology to anyone.

I worked at this East Hills Girls for about a year, I was a geography teacher but I couldn't take anymore of it's nonsense so I felt like I had to leave but I really feel very bad for the students who are still at this school. It's pathetic how the principal (Mrs Necyporuk) treats every student their differently depending on her liking. Disgusting, and the things I keep hearing about this school and it just keeps getting worse. I don't recommend this school to any parent what so ever.
