As I have experienced this school absolutely sucks I have never felt worse the environment is unhealthy and
The principle literally forced me to roll up my sleeves the kids there are unwelcoming and terrifying they’re multiple bullies but the teachers don’t do much about it the assembly’s say “no bullying policy” even tho they barley do anything the teachers are usually harsh and aggressive I recommend not sending ur kid here unless you want them to be unsocial, depressed and disgusted

The school needs a change in leadership ASAP. The principal is garbage, she can deny this all she wants with her little group of followers but we all know she is bad news. I don’t how she is still employed but I am sure that won’t last much longer, not at this school or any other - her registration needs to be revoked. We all know her games and the pattern - another vice principal on extended leave? Pathetic. Mt Hira is a beautiful school, just needs the rubbish taken out, bin day is coming so just need to stay strong!!

Dear parent from 01 September, listen to me when I say that no one cares if it was made by the Turkish community. What me and many other parents and students have a problem with us that the Turkish students are treated better than the other kids from different backgrounds. You’re right we don’t have to take our kids here which was a mistake I deeply regret Mind you. My kids told me that the students of Turkish backgrounds only hang out together and leave them out. The teachers also glorify their Turkish students. It’s not right and it never will be. By the way the teachers and school treat the students from different backgrounds, it’s no wonder that the students will behave in a similar manner (which they do). As Muslims and as a so called “multicultural” school you should teach the students to respect all people Turkish or not. The school should be ashamed of itself. And all the students and teachers who discriminate, will answer to Allah.

Wow. This is a big slander against the community. How dare you say such words. The school was established by the Turkish Muslim community. The College has Turkish, Arabic, Islamic Studies and Quran lessons. Why does it bother you that the Turkish community has established this school. You do not have to send your children their. However, I am aware that there are students from all different backgrounds studying in harmony. Why would you attack an Islamic school like this. You should be ashamed to write this review.

This school stunted my brain development
By Alumnus - 21 Jun 2023, Rate: bad
I graduated from Mt Hira and I regret it. My life will never be the same. I have PTSD, clinical depression, crippling anxiety, and no will to live. All my efforts were extorted by the staff and principal, what I achieved was snatched from my grasp with little in return. Teachers are teachers by name but not in action, and force students to teach themselves the content, yet when these students persevere for hours outside of school hours to achieve “good grades”, they are quick to claim credit. Miss Toni prides herself in 2021’s success in ATARs and VCE, but what had she done to help those students? What had she, or any other teacher, done to even remotely support them? Nothing. I know first hand. No support. All parents money wasted on tutoring outside of school grounds. But teachers are praised and awarded for not even following the syllabus.
You hate your child if you send them here.

This school believes that suspending/punishing students will make them not continue to do the things they do. Went to the principal multiple times and she still didn't do anything, but threaten me on multiple occasions, astagfirullah. Please reconsider your choice when enrolling in here, I regret coming.

as an graduate from Mthira college, I have realized this school favorites Turkish students so much .Such as giving them free food having Turkish flags EVERYWHERE and rarely getting trouble with the teachers when they do something rude or bad, like cursing at a teacher or not focusing in class but when their turkish they are forgiven straight away, some teachers are alright but most of them have favoritism and some are rude only good teachers are Brother Fadil, Brother Faik, and Brother Ibrahim

I previously wrote a review in January about my opinions of this school. I wrote a bad review but I didn't say anything offensive or hurtful and tried to remain as civil and kind as I could, although writing a negative review. Somehow it got deleted. I am just putting my opinions and thoughts based on what I experienced just for them to be turned down and rejected. Not happy Mt Hira. Not happy at all. This is a Muslim school and you of all places should allow others to speak their mind. Astagfirullah.

this is the best school in the world! at my old school i used to get very bad grades. i would get 99% on tests, how bad is that its awful! no at this school i get good grades like 0.2% thats the best grade ive ever got. Arbic is my favourite subject! I always fail my tests and assignments at my old school. My Old school was one of the worst school ever, they used to provide laptops for free and cases and textbooks, and they would always hold lunch time sessions for those who needed help. How bad is that! by the way Shelford Girls' Grammar was my old school its so bad dont go there, here is one of the best schools ever mt hira college is the best school in the world.

i have an update about by other review under this one. i just go an email from elon musk saying he wants to take my daughter to the sun with him and after take her to a different universe to meet aliens. My sons other tests have came back and it is so much worse, he only got a 100% i wish it didn't have to come to this but i will have to disown him. i am going to send him to the worst orphanage in the world so he could get punished for all the pain and suffering he put me through.

my child at this school is very unhappy, we have been thinking about whether or not to move them. Every single day there is some type of compliant either about the teachers or the principle. My son's math's test just came back and he only got a 98%, like that's so bad obviously the teachers a re not doing enough for my son, i had high expectations for this school since the fees are so expensive but they have not reached them. What would I tell my parents, that my son only got a 98% like he is such a disgrace to my family, the teachers need to do more in order for my son to at least get 110%. he is such a embarrassment to my family, like my own blood has only gotten a 98% i might even disown him if he does not get at least %110 on his exam. My daughter in year 2 is already on year 12 math's level and has won many awards and she has achieved this at another school, maybe you should take other schools as an example and employ high trained teachers.

My honest opinion is that this school is just terrible. Purely just for decoration and to show but when it comes to education it is poor. All students have to teach themselves because of the amount of uneducated staff. This school just wants to show everyone that they have all the facilities but instead the schools lacking in education. Please please please do not bring ur child here if you want them to achieve higher!!!
By Student - 17 Nov 2022, Rate: poor
so i am being honest, this school is kinda trash but this is my opinion. The teachers don't teach me well, i used to be a really high student but now i'm so close to failing because teachers keep leaving and coming and half if them aren't even teaching properly. The school does have some good things but looking at their education they dont know how to teach. One time the teacher told us that we had a class in a different classroom so we went there and waited but the teacher didnt come but after a long wait we thought to go to our normal class and the teacher was there and then they got mad at us for being late. The students barley get taught, i mean some of the teachers and good and care about the students but most dont even care about the kids here. most teachers dont even let you go to the bathroom like what do you want me to do pee in pants? or on the floor? also teacehrs here dont even teach properly like yes the students can be annoying sometimes but that doesnt mean you dont teach the students that actually want to learn. the canteen prices increase every year. you get in trouble for not wearing the right uniform, and their favourite students wont even get punished. one thing they dont care is about when its very cold outside and they still make u stay in the cold, sometimes when if is raining they expect us to stay in the shade instead on being inside.
By Student - 16 Nov 2022, Rate: poor
i will admit the school has alot of good recources that im grateful for like for example the free laptops they provide for students but the problem is that the education here is very poor , many of my friends wish to leave this school because of the lack of good education. half of the teachers dont even teach properly, ive had to learn by myself by using youtube instead because of how bad of an effort the teachers make. the student opinions are never heard out, like the skirts for example. many of the female students wish for shorter skirts or even just pants so that the girls can actually run around, and participate in sports. during recess and lunch, going outside , u wont see a single girl running or playing soccer unless they are in their sport uniform. i find this upsetting because when it comes to interschool sport, the sport teachers start complaing about why none of the girls will sign up for sport, when we can barley play because of our skirts. the girls have to wait a whole week just to play sport in their pe uniform. alot of the none muslim teachers also arent educated enough and they make opposite gendered students sit next to eachother and when we complain, they tjink we are lying or they ignore us.

It is such a good school and I think one of the best in Victoria. Everybody has the right to mention their opinion but please do not give a negative review because you are upset with something that occurred at the school and negatively see everything. We meet the safety requirements, and we also go further and pass those safety requirements to the best of our ability and ensure the best educational environment for our students, teachers, staff, and parents. The parents know that our school is the best out there in Victoria. I say Victoria because you cannot compare a school from different stats in every aspect. Thank you for your valuable time if you read the whole review!

We’re no strangers to love
You know the rules and so do I
A full commitment is what I’m thinking of
You wouldn’t get this from any other guy
I just wanna tell you how I’m feeling
Gotta make you understand
Never gonna give you up
Never gonna let you down
Never gonna turn around and desert you
Never gonna make you cry
Never gonna say goodbye
Never gonna tell a lie and hurt you
We’ve known each other for so long
Your hearts been aching but
your too shy to say it
Inside we both know what’s going on
We know the game and we’re gonna play it
And if you ask me how I’m feeling
Don’t tell me your too blind see it
Never gonna give you up
Never gonna let you down
Never gonna turn around and desert you
Never gonna make you cry
Never gonna say goodbye
Never gonna tell a lie and hurt you
Never gonna give you up
Never gonna let you down
Never gonna turn around and desert you

Lmaooo it’s so funny how they teachers are deleting the bad reviews. “No tolerance for bullying” I’ve seen so much bullying happen this year and the teachers and principal DO NOTHING!!!!! They just let it go because they don’t want to ruin the schools reputation. The truth is that the teachers can’t teach at all and it results to students failing classes thus having to leave the school because of the poor grades. There was a fight this year and one of the girls pulled another girls hijab off it was humiliating. Don’t move here If u don’t want your children to end up like that. The school is so greedy and blames the kids who get bullied. Mt Hira is a great school with teachers and leaders who really care about the students. I'm writing this review because I saw a really unfair comment by someone who is saying their kid was being bullied and wasn't believed. The truth is our Principal always speaks out against bullying and takes action when anyone complains about being bullied. She speaks to us students about this constantly in our assemblies, as well as in our classes and she always makes time for any student who goes to her with a problem. I don't think you'll find a more caring and supportive school than ours.

Mt Hira College is one of the most inclusive, safe, and nurturing schools in Australia. The teachers are highly committed and caring and the College goes above and beyond to help its students grow and succeed. Yes, the new Principal has a doctorate and is passionate about students' wellbeing. It is a shame that some students may have had a bad experience in the past, but it is important to evaluate the school on how it is now.

Do you know what 'defemation' is? Be careful on what you write on social media. You may end up in court. It is sad to see names mentioned in some comments. Just an advice from a parent, it will be better to speak with the person rather writing comments. I read some of the comments from 2017 and 2018. I personally know a few of the teachers. They are great people.
How rude? Have some manners.

Listen, I drive 30 minutes a day to get to the place where I can gain knowledge for my future. But, that seems to be a waste of time because some teachers are very harsh and mean. Some don't even teach new things. They come into lessons and teach us the exact same thing we learnt years ago. What's the point of teaching when you don't teach your students some new things that would help them for their future. This year I had a great form class teacher and English teacher but the rest were not as good. If the teacher expect the students to respect everyone, then why don't the teachers show some respect to their classes instead? huh? Sometimes I even feel like I don't belong. Thanks a lot Mt.Hira College.....

I have been attending Mt Hira since 2016 and I have a lot to say about the school. The whole point I decided to attend this school,is due to the fact that it is an islamic school.I, obviously, came here to become closer to my God and strengthen my faith(learn Arabic).Since being at this school I have learnt nothing in both classes.I previously had Mr Muhammad as my RE teacher, and the entire year I wondered why the heck anyway hired him.He literally can't teach for sh**.The school has gotten rid of all the good/non-Turkish teachers and replcaed them with ppl like him.Mr Muhammad can't teach and is so obnoxious. All I learnt from him was 'never say oof to your parents' and how he learnt the entire Quran at the age of 9.Rolls eyes and sighs*
At this school I have learnt nothing about Islam and have actually degresed. Some teachers that I like are Mr Wang,Ms Nahas,Mr Juan,Ms Barling,Ms Sara,Ms Gibney,Mr Seyyid,MsAbir and more. Those are only the teachers that have taught me but there are more amazing ones. This school does hire biasely, mostly Turkish and families.Mr Shefiks family.Plus the school canteen is very annoying. It is over-priced and sells many haram options.I feel like this school is a waste of money,if you are looking for a good islamic school. The school is more focused around being Turkish than being Muslim. Also some teachers are very biased toward ppl of the same country,Ms Hulya-but that is a story for another day.Lastly, teachers care more about the colour of your socks and the fact that you are wearing a necklace, than bullying.
Chile...anyways

My daughter had to leave the school 3 times because of bulling they kept saying they would resolve it but never did? A teacher told my daughter not to run for class captain because she wouldn’t get it there was no point trying? The teachers were very double faced and caused my daughter to have a lot of anger they never listened to her nor respected any other culture besides the Turkish race? The office ladies are the worst, my daughter was very sick and we called the school the office lady never told her teachers nor the principal when my daughter went back to school she had so much work to catch up on and kept calling her into the office! They accuse a lot of students before even looking at the cameras? There is a lot of hate and negative teachers as well as students so take my advice and DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD THERE?

this school is so nice! Like everywhere you look there is always beauty and especially the outdoor area where it is always clean and no rubbish in sight. I definitely recommend this school to any Muslim families as my children learns about the religion so i don't have to teach them ( hehe ). And the fact that one of my children mentioned that their teacher gave her 100% even though she had 99%, like this is just not right, my child doesn't deserve a hundred percent.
But overall this school is great and my children are learning a lot

I have been here since prep. The population of turkish students is not even half of the school. If you are talking about teachers you maybe right, they are mainly in Primary.

Firstly, a lot goes around in this school. A few staff members once made a student convert to christianity during their “study sessions”. Staff members have cheated on their partners to be together. The school has provided VCE students with their own iPad’s, however, are unable to download the apps they like but are provided with useless ones. Which I must say are apps that are used by primary year 2 students. There have been students bullied by other students and nothing has been done to these students. No punishment no matter how many times it has been done. Many teachers are kind, however, some are biased and don’t give students the chance they should have. There are teachers that cannot teach at all but are given VCE subjects and when students complain the people above take no action. Why? Because everyone in this school is attached to one other person. They are all hired because they either have a friend or relative that work there. Mr Sefik’s whole family is basically in the school now! Same as Ms Nazreen (some of her family and friends). Anyways, just don’t come here!

They said it’s a a Australian school but still have the Turkish flag up the school.
Teachers their only like the Turkish kids of a Turkish kid and another kid of another country have a fight or argument the teachers would all take the Turkish side because there Turkish and they hire Turkish teachers even if there not qualified or not they want Turkish teachers so other teachers who are not Turkish I personally tell u to give up and don’t try to go to Mthira you lost ur chance when your not Turkish

As a student at Mt Hira I was delighted and honored to be at a complex were I could educate myself academically and spiritually. Students who are slightly sad will understand the college after they graduate. I've graduated in 2015. Now I understand why my teachers asked me to study hard, gave me so many opportunities to enhance my knowledge. To be honest there was a few teachers that had to leave. Some students don't appreciate that the school is a safe zone. I have never witnessed any kind of physical altercation. Praying at a Mosque (calligraphy is great) is also something that most Islamic schools don't have. I really hope this school improves. Willing to send my own child to Mt Hira College.

1- I have a child in Year Eleven. Its great to see only 8 students in one class doing an elective. This is like tutoring. Thank you Mt Hira for opening up classes even if there isn't much numbers.
2- Just the education needs to be improved. The key to that is getting qualified, passionate teachers.
By Alumnus - 23 Oct 2019, Rate: average
The school could be improved in many ways.
1- Parents to help and guide their own child and not expect everything from teachers. The school needs to support and help out parents on how to guide their children. Most parents are not educated or just don't care about their child.
2- VCAL should be a priority as most students are not capable to do VCE.
3- Employ better teachers (higher salary) and get rid of the teachers who don't care about education.
4- Learning starts at early ages. Improve Primary School.
5- In short, No Discipline, No Education.

To be fairly honest this school is honestly the absolute worst and the school only hires Turkish staff even if they are fully qualified of not! This school couldn’t give less than two donkeys asses about the students staff or parent if they are Albanian,Bosnian,Indian or any other culture except turks! This school is absolutely ridiculous, I don’t recommend to come here as a student or staff member!

I have worked at this school as a QUALIFIED teacher, and let me say... this school should be taken down by child protection services. The way the other staff treat the students is disgusting and are always gossiping about the students and their parents. Especially the principal. Speaks nothing but Turkish/very poor English during pointless school assemblies and you cannot understand a single word. Many of the positive reviews you will see here are written by nobody but the staff themselves! This school is purely Turkish and claims to be 'religious' when they tell the kids to skip ablution for prayer. One of the office ladies screamed at a child when he asked her for a bandaid because she was'busy'. In fact, the school fired a mass of Australian staff because they were concerned about the limited time of education during the day and the LACK OF QUALIFIED STAFF! They have no respect for children of other races and no manners what so ever. In other words, this school is worse than third-world quality.

It’s so unfortunate to see the school goes backwards everyear. Every year at the start of the school year they say everything will be change and will do better but look at the staff turnout. It’s incredibly high. And the school leadership always blame on other never looked at themselves.favouritism is another issue. There is always the same students who get rewarded by the school. Some useless teachers are still on duty because they privilege no matter what they do at school. Too much unfairness and no quality. I took out my child this year because nothing has been changed and never will.

All he does is walk around the class room and stick out his non existent ass.the only reason he is at this school is that he's Turkish.considering that this is a Turkish owned school they hire anyone whose Turkish even if they can teach or not.the school shows favouritism towards the Turkish student which is discrimination for those who aren't.

6 year one students decides to runaway from the mosque which is connected to the school during school times. They get caught while they were running away. But no teacher was at that site to prevent them attempting no yard duty teacher to observe the children when gates are suppose to be locked during school hours. So how do they handle it? They make the children write apology letters. The stuff are like gang members and will do anything if their child gets in to trouble. They will find a goatscape and make the poor child consenquence everything. Toilets are not checked many children who are not in the stuffs system get beaten here. The councellor declares her self as a psycologist to turkish parents. There are teachers with bad behaviours. If you have money and indulge them with it then they treat like bosses but if u are an avarage person or on low budget but still pay date to date because you dont give them any extra they will be a bully to your child even if your child is academically very well they will still do the same treatment. Have heard so many times from stuff acting sarcastically and telling me that they did not mind me telling these and there was ways for them to cover up.

Teachers there dont even teach us anything eg Mr Dislioglu didnt actually teach any of us he just sits there and when we get to loud bribes us with pizza and stuff to get us to shut up so he dosent get problems from the principle. I also noticed that he bullied some teachers as well. Like really bad. Also this school has legit no student wellbeing when you get to secondary. They dont care and if u got issues basically you get bullied by evryone if you have mental problems. Like srsly its as if ur in another world or something. The teachers who care dont last very long dnt no why. Dnt send your kids here even the best of us got screwed up.

We came from another islamic school in the area and it has been 2 years and the best decision for our children. It offers more than what they originally had (academically and activities) and has the best of both worlds. However, each family to their own really depends what you're after for your children. Its not the most religious school but it does cover the basic including prayers and that to me is good enough. Islam starts at home after all. So far our kids are happy and teachers/staff are great. Good discipline too exactly what our children needs more of these days hence the comments made by so called students here regarding teachers, quite inappropriate and rude actually.
Keep up the good work mt hira

I'm in year 5 and all of my teachers are amazing in their own ways. Sure, they can be strict and a bit upset sometimes, but it's all because they want us (the students) to learn and have a proper and full education that we enjoy and are invovled in. Loads of parents seem to judge the teachers like judging a book by its cover when they haven't even had them teach their children yet. This is wrong and probably the only negetive situation at this school. Everyone here treats you like family and look after you all of the time... I would defenately recomend my school to anybody at any age. ?????

I had to learn the hard way. I am left with no choice but to put my kids at Minaret College, which I believe is currently the better option among the schools in South East.

MR.CAMPBELL is cheating on his wife with one of the teachers at school

Mr Franklin, Stock, Cambell, Raihan WATCH OUT!!
By Student - 12 Nov 2015, Rate: excellent
First of all Gormans a legend. Mr Franklin is a crooked one eyed pedophile. Mr Campbell needs to fix his shoulders and tuck his shirt in instead of telling others. Mr stock can go die in a ditch. And if the principal doesn't stop giving everyone death stares.... imma poke her eyes out.

I'm 100% proud of being a former student of Mt Hira college, so don't go around wrecking its reputation because it actually means something to some people if not to you

I will never send my child here again! My daughter has be bullied by students for god knows how long and the school has lead her to believe that she is dumb or all the students are all smarter than her, which now resulting in her dropping out of school in year 9. Defiantly a waste of 2 grand a year.

I Absolutely hated it there, i felt like i was trapped in a prison. They have cameras in EVERY Single classroom. I mean is that really necessary? Watching there every move like they are criminals? Few of the staff member that are very rude, in particular an the office lady . I remember one time i was waiting in the office i overheard her yelling at a primary student accusing him of lying about being sick, I kind of just ignored that because you know sometimes kids lie. but after that she goes on and says to one of her staff members that she is "f*king sick of these kids" I was so disgusted that kind of foul language was coming from an individual who was suppose to be our role model and influence us on how to be better Muslims. Well then, I guess they are just a punch of scammers who love milking money from us.

lovely school and Mr Franklin is a lovely teacher. whoever said 'teachers touch me in inappropriate areas of my body' is lying.
By Parent - 29 Jul 2015, Rate: bad
i sent my children there for a year NEVER AGAIN, if you care about your children's education do not send them to this school. If it is religious education you are seeking for your children then this school is not the right one because religious education classes should cover ALL religions yet Mt., hira ONLY covers islam and that is simply unacceptable.
