All the overly strict rules that are put in place is hidden behind “preparing the girls for the future” when in-fact they are just suppressing them and punishing them for being themselves. The curriculum has been the same for years and I doubt the teachers are fully qualified to be teaching high schoolers. When my daughter was enrolled in this school many days she would come home complaining how she felt like she went backwards from some specific teachers and how draining school is. They boast about being the first all girls school in Melbourne and they values have stayed back in the past, as it is very much rules over student system. Unless your daughter gets only A+ and is enrolled in every extra curricular activity they get payed no mind at all. For both you and your child’s sake DONT send her here you will regret it. | | By Parent - 24 Jan 2023, Rate: poor | If your daughter isn’t involved with the college choir, don’t expect any recognition. | | By Parent - 17 Mar 2020, Rate: excellent | My experience at this school has been nothing but superb. They accommodate students who are creative to students that excel in STEM subjects identifying their needs to be mentally stimulated and challenged . Their music program is sensational, giving the girls the chance to try a selection of musical instruments and being able to see these performances is inspiring. I truly recommend this school. | | By Parent - 17 Mar 2020, Rate: excellent | As parents of your students, we may be accountants, scientists, lawyers and engineers – but nothing contributes to the nation’s development more than the sacrifices made by many teachers from the Academy. You have given our girls wonderful opportunities to do their best at school and in life and we are truly grateful. | | By Student - 18 Jul 2018, Rate: excellent | Great school | | By Student - 30 Aug 2016, Rate: bad | I am an ex student of a Sisters of Mercy school. The sisters boast of the high moral standards at their schools. However, the recent treatment of a workman left a stain on the Sisters of Mercy. I would not send a child to one of their schools. If you wish to read about that issue, google white lies test blog and google Innuendo test blog. | | By Parent - 31 Jul 2016, Rate: poor | The lack of inspiration and dedication in the leaning is horrendous and should not be tolerated with such marks, my child came here and learnt here for about 3 years and she admits she hasn't learnt anything valuable. Horrible school, also the fact that they reserve so many spots for the overseas students just for the money. I do not recommend at all. | | By Alumnus - 18 Mar 2015, Rate: excellent | I have been an academy student and graduated from VCE in 1980. I am still very proud to have had my education at this school and will continue to cherish the learning experience and happy memories. I am a primary school teacher today and the greatest moments in my life are when my own ex students graduate from the Academy and present themselves as responsible, inspirational young people ready to give to our world. Thank you to a great school: the Academy of Mary Immaculate. | |
