The day I stopped swimming for the school the teachers became very unpleasant. The teachers are substandard and the school is a joke to any other private school. Government schools have better facilities and teachers. |

Marcellin was a fantastic school. Last 12 months have proven that they are not up to standard and poor management of students have resulted in a toxic environment. Understandable 2020 COVID was a problem.2021 COVID no excuse .

Boys are not taught to be leaders . They are taught to be subservient followers . If your child has an independent way of thinking, this is not the school for them. |

It seems to me that the teachers are afraid of the boys, the discipline is non existent. Fees do not reflect the level of education received by the students. Their reputation as a sporting school is paramount to their existence without that reputation the school has nothing to offer students.

A parent of a Marcellin boy have to say this school is not what it is made out to be. I don't really know what we are paying these over piced fees for. Some teachers just don't care about the student's wellfare and they pride on "we care about the student's wellbeing" what a lot of bull. If your child is not academically there you are wasting your time sending your child there, this school is only concerned about the marks and receiving the fee money. I had a parent tell me that at there Valedictory Dinner for year 12's they only mentioned the boys which have excelled that year and that she was ready to get up and go because she was sick of hearing the same names called over and over. What about the boys who excelled in other areas. The school is so unorganized, before choosing a school for your son please look at the reviews, the tours at Marcellin are all rehearsed to make the school look so impressive. I can go on and on but at the end it is your choice, please make the right one. |

Just finished Year 12 at Marcellin. A school not worth the money and not any better than most public schools. Staff is so awfully unorganized and communication between teachers and students/parents is non existent which is why half the time us students have no idea what is going on. (Even the teachers themselves are clueless.) The principal worries more over the state of the ovals, rather than the actual learning facilities and (touchwood) if a school emergency such as fire was to occur, most of the uptight staff would rather ensure the students shirts were tucked in, rather than getting the kids to safety. The learning coordinators will make Marcellin seem like such a grand school but honestly throughout my six years at the school, I witnessed so many students and staff leave because they were so unhappy at Marcellin. Personally, I would send your kids to another school, Marcellin has turned into a big joke of a college.

Having worked at Marcellin I have had the chance to see behind the scenes and it's not pretty. The school is quite poorly managed and very unorganised. The education programs are under resourced and as a result under developed. It's basically just teachers flying by the seat of there pants. Ok I'll be fair I'm quite sure that not all the classes are like that but I would say that the average is quite low. At least not much if at all better than a public school. The staff are for the most part quite hard working they have to be to pick up all the slack in the poorly established systems. It's seriously like they've never done this before and are like, "Ahh what ever we'll work it out on the day". On the up side the kids love it there, mostly I would guess because they mostly get to just do what ever they want.

From throwing food at lunch and recess trying to hit a student in the back of their head (or on their blazer) to incompetent staff and students, as well as talking back at teachers and averaging low...low marks on tests!! Words can't describe my feelings for this poorly-overpriced school. The older year levels (year 9 and above) make the lower years feel down and gloomy. Many parents believe that the school does well, ranging from good marks to discipline, well as a student from Marcellin College I can assure you from now that that is not the case....don't send your child here. The less people attending the better. Only so the principle can see the drastic result in change (money wise) and then maybe...just maybe the school will actually cull. FYI: If the school does decide to cull, at least 2/3 of the students would have to leave. Please take my word. I swear on the Holy bible that all the above information is correct. If read to this point, thank you for your time. - From a student |

Being a parent whose son is about to enter VCE years the school has been nothing but disappointing. Teachers have been extremely negative and discouraging when it comes to undertaking 3/4 units in VCE which most schools encourage. Staff have made numerous condescending comments and even have rolled their eyes. Would not suggest - may be great in the early years BUT definitely not when it actually matters. Uninspiring and lazy teachers and attitude. |

Has given opportunities for a Pathway whether VCE or VCAL. But doesn't really have many options for students to choose from. Also Facilities aren't up to date and their Old Boys' program, should be more organised in a way to stay in touch, organisation and more fun things.

An over priced waste of time, don't even contemplate this school, looks nice but thats it, staff are lazy incompetents (with good teachers either being fired or leaving of there own accord) who actively show no ability to properly monitor students. Bullying is a rampant part of this school (this most |

It is a fantastic school where the teachers genuinely care for the boys and help bring out the best in them. The pastoral system in the school is a great way of developing the family spirit .Honestly if I had my life over again and had to choose a school for my son it would definitely be Marcellin College. |
