School Reviews

The school is not disability friendly, one elevator that does not reach all parts of the school.
all the teachers gossip about students which is kinda uncomfortable.
Chinese curriculum is extremely poor
Dr Vadalla is a legend we love him, all must praise doctor Vadalla.
The school kinda forces Catholicism on you
canteen is overpriced, inflation sucks.
they keep changing the room numbers every year so you never know where you're going
They also are obsessive over uniform, this is not necessarily a bad thing but it gets to the point where students are lectured extremely frequently and less time is dedicated to things that are more important.
I once new a teacher that criticised a Childs hair tie for being grey rather than black.
st Cath is a legend though

A wonderful stimulating, nuturing enviroment
Literature, Humanities, Science all taught encouraging a love of learning. I remain a voracious reader of books, and have a most diverse interest in life. I am 71 still remember the names of my passionate teachers,
Such happy memories of school days.
Blessed to have been educated by the Dominicans.

this school is definitely not for those who have really specific needs.
i have multiple learning issues and several chronic illness plus anxiety and the school did not make it easy for me.
from the start they were definitely not accomidating and helpful with my anxiety towards school events etc, i was pushed to do things i didn't want to especially in year 7. I struggled with this and haven't liked any school events e.g. aths carnival, swim carnival. They tried to help with a school counsellor but with my difficulties this was hard and they all started to talk to each other and i felt violated.
When i became ill, at the start everyone was ok with helping me with work, making sure i was ok, but i relied on my friends a lot because the teachers weren't great in communicating things, eventually as i hit the 3 year mark with my illness's everything became crashing down, the teachers said i needed to communicate instead of my mum, ( i was not able to write emails etc) they said i needed to be more responsible, they weren't very accommodating with helping me with my VCE beginning, the school continued with saying it was not a long distance school, and the teachers couldn't take photos or record themselves in the lessons. i was missing out on a lot of work. and it wasn't helping, I'm still in school and I'm having trouble still. even after several meetings things still haven't been sorted out and its very tiring. my mum wants to move me but I'm already halfway through year 11, and i only have 1 year to go. My friends are their and i think the toll of moving and making new friends would be more destructive than helpful
its not worth the hassle thinking about sending your kids here if they have complex needs, medically and learning.
I must say this is a great school if your child is really outgoing, confident, sporty or talented.

Best school ever! I couldn't believe how welcoming this school is. I'm a year 7 student and couldn't be happier here. I started off a bit lonely. But my house captain introduced me to a couple of other year 7's and now their my best friends. I love you Siena College!
