Reviews | By Parent - 29 Apr 2016, Rate: poor | I truly believe that this school has slowly gone down. I disagree about certain things but as all reviews go it is based on personal experience. I know not everything can be sunshine and roses. I feel that if you child is slightly outside the box, no effort is made to accommodate that child. I think the whole school needs a revamp and the teaching staff should be access based on current teaching practices and studies. The specialist teachers are for the most part great, but in saying that my eldest child who has now gone onto high school has learnt more Japanese in term 1 then the whole of the previous years teaching at St Ollies. The grounds are not big enough for sports, no track field, no real space for the kids to run around or train. The older grades spend their breaks on either the tennis courts or a small oval of grass. The school has great potential but not until a huge shake up is done. | | By Parent - 10 Nov 2013, Rate: bad | This school is just another fine example of why those pedophiles called the Catholic Church should not be involved in education. Do yourself a favor and steer well clear of this toxic place. Don't believe there ratings, they make sure under achieving kids are not present for naplan testing. | | By Parent - 06 Apr 2013, Rate: excellent | This is a great little school. It has a wonderful caring, down-to-earth community spirit. It's teachers and principal are very good, the facilities for a small school are great (a pool and two swimming lessons per week from prep), a well run healthy tuckshop, and the children are very happy. The school has top class specialist teachers for Music, Art, PE, Support, Language etc. They have covered multi-courts where the kids can learn tennis, soccor etc. after school. We have water polo in summer. Cross country training in winter. They teach well but do not put any emphasis at all on Naplan. The children are walking in almost blind and that is reflected in their results. | |
