Pine Community School focuses on the child and their view of the world. It models compassion and inclusive play, encourages the child’ passions and projects, and builds a community. It’s teachers are those rare and wonderful people who love engaging with children.
My child was there for 6 years and she calls herself “a piney” kid. I am so grateful for the many wonderful memories I have during her time at the school. An amazing school!

Children have a great lack of and disregard for hygiene and cleanliness, which is not surprising given the state of the school itself. Classrooms and outdoor play areas are littered with rubbish, with teachers not really providing any guidance on self care, or respect for belongings. Children are not encouraged to wear shoes or hats, clean up after themselves, or to work together in tidying things they have been using.
There is a lack of guidance from the teachers and most of the children just seem to see this school as extended day care.
Not a school I would recommend if you would like to your child to grow educated and with a sense of morals.

Found on www.essentialkids.com.au this pretty much sums up my experiences with the school. Although children are messy and hectic, part of creating a well-rounded person is also fostering an understanding of hygiene and cleanliness.
"My first preference had been Pine Community School as it is a democratic school, with combined classes and is run similar to a Montessori school. However, I have been up to the school on two occasions and it has been absolutely filthy both times - open food containers on the floor, very disorganised etc. I didn't get a good vibe from the principal, but the teachers I met seemed nice. So for those reasons we have pretty much ruled it out."
