I have had many issues with him and alot of sleepless nights worrying about him, I had a meeting with the principal Mrs Leslie and she showed me around this tiny school and explained to me why i should send him. I have not shed a tear since. The most beautiful school and children not to mention the teachers, i can not express how happy i am with the decision of the school i picked and how much my son has changed. His kindergarten teacher is the best and the classroom is such a colourful happy place with always a helper there for those who need it. Anyone looking at starting please have a look for yourself you will not be dissapointed. The pricipal is there first thing in the morning to greet you and the last one there to say goodbye at the gate not to mention she know every single students name. She has done a fantastic job at running this school.

Teachers are very committed and often perform outside their nominal workload for extra curricular activities. All students are known by all staff members which means NO ONE falls through the cracks. Public speaking is also taught at the school. Every student has opportunities to be part of other extra activities such as dance, choir, school sports and music. At large schools there are often too many students to accomodate everyone who has shown interest in such activities and as a result will only be offered to those that perform above average or only offered for a single term.

Contrary to the previous comment, I am curious as to when this "alumnus" attended. First of all, most government schools have some composite classes, and Sylvania Public prides itself on individual attention and differentiating the needs of each student. There is definitely an ongoing public speaking program from K - 6 which has seen our students attend zone and regional finals to represent the school. We encourage visitors to book a personal tour, and come along and see for themselves just how confident all of our students, including kindergarten, really are. | | | >>More reviews... | |
