My son always come home with a pack of donuts and $200, sometimes there's white icing on his face even when he hasn't eaten any donuts.

The best decision of my life. The facilities are world class, the history and traditions are without parallel and the academic, sporting and cultural aspects are top notch. In terms of actual students who get high OP scores, its in the top 3% of the state (ask for the actual numbers rather than the percentages/concocted equations which are not a true reflection). They have produced about 30 judges, 30 Wallabies, the third most number of Rhodes scholars in Queensland. Scores of surgeons, lawyers, politicians, public figures, olympians. A beautiful culture, an incredible social aspects for families and heaps of country boys, international kids, city kids and kids from other states and capital cities. Its expensive as a boarder but the connections are life long and the old boys network is organic and vibrant and second to none in terms of constant events. The St Joesephs lunch and Nudgee Terrace rugby festivities are fantastic and are a major social occasion for Brisbane. Its excellent. Some familes and kids won't fit in e.g. I notice the review above, but you have to be quite stoic, resilient and across many fields to appreciate the place or in fact prosper there. Its not for the average family. My three boys are across Legal, Medicine in Brisbane and the Gold Coast and one in property consulting in Hong Kong. All played rugby after school albeit more social than anything else and one continued his rowing at Uni in the USA for a year or two. Its not without fault, but it's for sure one of the most renowned and unique institutions in the country. The kids arent just thrown in front of a text book and taught exam technique. They are exposed to a range of disciplines which tries to find the kids their best and most enjoyable field. Churchie and TSS are probably similar in Brisbane albiet much "newer" schools founded much later and probably Kings and in Sydney - Riverview, Scots College, Shore, St Josephs.
