This school is great. I have 2 kids attending with one in the GATS class and another has behavioural and learning difficulties. I have found the school to be very helpful and nothing is ever too hard for them. If you have a problem you just ring and talk to them and it is dealt with. My children have come along in leaps and bounds and I would never dream of moving them to another school. Hunter River High School is there for the kids.

Racism towards indigenous and non indigenous pupils is not delt with, its all to easy to dance on egg shells around things and sweep it under the rug (the old head in the sand).
Any student that seems to show any sort of independance may as well have a target on their back as some staff members will label them as trouble makers. The Headmaster has a quoatation on his office wall that states "If I agree with you then we'll both be wrong"seems to hold true for the majority of teachers at the school.
Education wise I found a few teachers will help kids that find some subjects difficult, others could'nt give a toss and some even laugh at the kids who are struggleing. In sort the school needs to be turned upside down and shaken so the shit can fall out.
I'm , rate this school
