Honestly I used to love this school. I was so proud to be a part of this school that I thought had such great facilities whilst maintaining high academic status. But, when I look back at these thoughts, I realise I was wrong and blinded by pride.
I admit that Abbotsleigh is strong academically, ranking number 7 in 2022 - its academic abilities are why I haven’t transferred yet. But does anyone ever wonder why our academics are so good? It’s because students worry day and night over academic achievements and competition, studying at every break they get. Prefects and teachers consistently joke about how stressed students are because of how common it is, and yet staff does nothing to actually help. They just tell us to stop being so stressed, and expect us to feel suddenly better. Furthermore, many teachers (especially those in the maths department) rely on tutoring outside of school for good marks. Because of their incapability to teach, year averages have scored as low as 40%. The English department is good though
