I attended Wantirna College from 1992-1997. In my final year of high school there were over 1500 students, this was due to the former Premier Kennett closing the nearby schools. Yes, there were definitely allot of students who bullied students and at the time it was hard to detect and address it. Back then I do not feel there was any training or policies so it meant the aggressors got away with it, dropped out in Year 10 or were transferred to another school. However, I will never forget the support of my teachers when I was struggling to complete my studies in Year 12 due to very poor health. All my teachers supported me during class and after school. My History teacher believed in me when I did not believe in myself. I will never forget that. Great teachers change lives and there are plenty of dedicated teachers who only want their students to succeed.
