I am former student technically but it is not worth it being stranded on a hill right next to a farm. There is not much opportunity in terms of after school club activities and they mostly promote ‘The Arts’. I did not feel like the school provided other opportunities to thrive in. Heck, they didn’t even help with work experience despite having one or two careers counsellors. The people at Aitken were too rowdy and I cant blame them for being that way. The only concern was that they did not respect the fact that other people are trying to learn and yelling over the top of each other doesn’t help. As for teachers, some were okay but majority were too harsh on the uniform rules. I know you are trying to teach us to dress for the future but it isn’t like my boss would yell at me for not wearing the wrong kind of socks. One thing that I value the most is student voice. THERE WAS NONE! Sure we had student leaders but they did nothing! This school is just based on a teacher hierarchy where we are forced to sit through 5 periods while drowning inside their words! There was and there is no student voice to call out all the flaws inside the school. The fact that Aitken spends the majority of its money on school grounds tying to make everything look perfect instead of using the money on the needs of students. At the end of the day, it is up to you if you decide to send your children there. Personally, I would not go back. It is not worth the $16k
