I attended Linden Park from 2006-2011 and I dont want to write an entire story but here are a few points reviewing my time at the school.
- cold teachers who really didn’t understand children and were constantly grumpy.
- The humiliation that was put on me in grade 1 has literally scared me. Would always hide my emotions in class then come home crying.
- a sometimes very unwelcoming environment.
- if you arrived even a minute late to class in the morning it was never “morning _____, now what is the reason that you are late”, the teacher would be full on screaming at you at he top of her lungs in front of the whole class “WHY ARE YOU LATE? HOW DARE YOU SHOW UP TO MY CLASS LATE, I HOPE YOU FEEL BAD THAT YOU ALREADY MISSED PART OF THE LESSON, WE ALL HAVE TO WAIT FOR YOU KNKW”.... we were literally 6/7.... and our parents were in charge of taking us to school.
- was assulted by a fellow class mate in the girls rest room in grade 1 and nobody really did anything.
- lost all my friends in grade 4 due to 1 girl who thought it would be funny to get me hated by everyone for some selfish reason.
- developed depression
- planned to move to a new school
- teachers were constantly asking why I was moving... well you always failed to help me didn’t you...?
- I then moved to Parkside Primary, it was a much smaller school and a much warmer environment and met a great bunch of friends who I am still in contact with today.
I know it sounds like a bit of a joke and I really wish it was, but there were those few years of primary school that were absolute hell.
