Reviews | By Alumnus - 07 May 2020, Rate: good | Reading the above comment from the 1960s. Pascoe Vale South Primary employed a teacher named Mrs Kellett. She taught grade 5 and was harsh and brutal also in the way she dealt with students. On another occasion with John Elderfield I recall i couldn't understand an aspect of maths. I was at the time in grade 4 so the teacher took me into grade 6 with 35 children, stood me in front of the class and explained the maths, then asked if i understood. My response was no, then he strapped me and then asked do i know it now. Interesting strategy. On a brighter note, my grade six teacher was the most inspiring teacher who i ever had (and i've been a teacher for 35 years). His name was John Sheen. This man inspired me and showed me that i can do anything. I went on to secondary and later Melbourne Uni always remembering this teacher from Pascoe Vale South Primary who instilled this belief that i can do it!!!! There should be an annual award from this school in his name! Gary Crole | | By Alumnus - 02 Nov 2014, Rate: average | This has no bearing on the modern school, but in the 1960s Pascoe Vale South Primary harbored a brutal teacher, one of the worst, a man given to physical assault, psychological assault and terrorizing his class of twelve year olds in general. We all just put up with it. Looking back it was horrendous. The teacher's name was Ken Graham and he worked there from the late 60s to the early 70s. What a monster he was. I'd like to find him to lay charges. | | By Parent - 22 Jan 2014, Rate: good | This school has a clear objective of helping each child reach their potential, can still be a little hesitant to push for the best | |
