i live in Mt Druitt in Sydney's west. Not that safe but suburbs around mt druitt are bad not mt druitt itself. Don't invite trouble and it won't invite you.

Living the life here
By Kristy Mounsey - 15 May 2015
I have lived in MtDruitt for 34 yrs.
My family have never had our car stolen, or been a victim of a violent crime. Our house was broken into once, but our elderly neighbour scared the teenagers away.
The area had a lot of parks, and the local library is great (has free internet).
I regularly catch public transport and although the station is very quite at night I have never had an incident. Trains to the city are crowded at peak hour.
Some of our schools need more support. It makes me sad to see razor wire on the fences of primary schools. I'd like to see an anti-bullying strategy inclement end nation wide. I went to catholic schools in the area (Sacred Heart 1986-1992 & St.Agnes 1993-1996) and was bullied. However when I attended Loyola College (1997-1998) I was never bullied.
Our neighbours are excellent and all work.
The shopping centre is busy and has most things other Westfeilds do. Parking can be an issue.
There are many great community services including women's washhouse, men's shed, aboriginal services, headspace, street university to name a few.

I have live in Mt Druitt since 1983 in Bidwill 1st went to Bidwill primary school both the old 1 that was on Carlise Ave and new 1 plus Biwill High . I hated Biwill high it was a nightmare the teachers didn't do nothing about bullying as i was having issues in my class and the teacher was useless she saw it go on but did nothing , in Bidwill we were broken into and robbed when living in housing commission street not blaming that fact on the event that happened just stating facts as my parents and eldest sister moved into that home when it was brand new in Capparis crt in 1975 ( i was brought up by my dads parents) the only other crime we experienced in that house was someone setting a fire under the kitchen my dad was home alone in bed sleeping ( no-one was caught for the crime) , my dad did suffer a crime outside the home in 1993 my dad was walking home from my sister house in Blackett along popendetta rd to our home in Bidwill when he was set upon by 3 men and bashed and robbed it was at night and yes no-one been caught for that crime my dad had to have a plate put in his head and jaw he received $50,000 criminal comp for it ..in 1999 my dad retired and moved to Shalvey after buying a privately built home and been there ever since the only crime was some galah stole the copper pipe out of the front tap ...other than that its a lovely quiet street with no issues .All in all mt druitt isnt that bad yes we had issues and others have too but u tell me what area hasn't ?..

Lived in Mt Druitt 3 years after a year the house was broken into then the car then the mail. Loud neighbours with parties every week until they moved out. I guess it's no different to any other area but having grown up in Liverpool I never had any problems the only good thing about here is rent is cheaper compared to other areas I guess
