User Review | 02 Jul 2012 | Carlingford is alright. Housing tends to be a bit on the pricey side but there's bargains if you know where to look. Pennant Hills Rd runs pretty much through the southern part of the suburb and it won't take long to get to Westmead Hospital since you will be mainly using main roads all the way. The shopping centre has a Woolies, Coles, Target, Bing Lee, Dickie Smith etc. and if you need to get to a Myer/Big W, you can just drive to Macquarie Centre.
Finally it's a bus-reliant suburb as the rail line only runs trains once an hour (30 mins during peak at most) but the m54 is the direct link to Parramatta, Epping, and Macquarie Park. Average house prices are $1.2m for 3 bed/$1.4m for 4 bed. North of Carlingford (Epping/Eastwood border) and Kingsdene Estate are better pockets of Carlingford. Avoid buying near power lines and towers as resale value is not good, no proven heath effects though. There is housing commission in nearby suburbs Telopea, Dundas and Ermington. | | |
