This exquisite cottage, thought to have been transported from France as a prefabricated house (ca 1870) has been meticulously restored and extended by the present owners to create a large-scale family residence which pays respect to the proportions of the original dwelling. The simple nineteenth-century lines are echoed in the architecture of the high-ceilinged extension, and also in the style of the outbuildings set in the deep landscaped and terraced rear garden a pool house/bathroom, a large studio/ teenage retreat finished in handmade honey bricks, and a Victorian gazebo overlooking the solar-heated pool.
