This innovative, energy efficient family home designed by Sue Mitchell utilises a restrained palette of local materials creating a calm and timeless feel. The North facing rammed earth walls have been designed for optimisation of thermal mass. A responsible selection of materials throughout the entire house such as reclaimed timber floors that have been tongue oiled for maximum wear and tear, easy maintenance and are non toxic.
The house has generous proportions with a spacious family room, dining and well planned kitchen with large walk in pantry, all on the Northern side of the house, plus a second living room or children's play room, two decks on each side of the house accommodate outdoor living for all seasons. From the main bedroom be lulled to sleep by the waves or relax in a hammock on the balcony, a well appointed walk in robe, luxurious en suite and yoga room all make for a wonderful adults retreat. The further three bedrooms are all excellent sizes with an en suite and family bathroom while the entire house has hydronic heating plus reverses cycle air-conditioning.
