Walkers on the North Fitzroy heritage track will be familiar with the two fine examples of the late Victorian 'gentleman's residence' at 19-21 Alfred Crescent. This imposing building with deep verandahs, balconies, graceful cast-iron pillars and front gardens has views across the park and down the sweep of the Crescent, one of the finest residential address north of the Yarra.
Number 21 has an impressive entry from the southern side, with a grand door surrounded by ruby glass, set below an attractive arched window looking down into the stairwell.
