"Wanstead" Circa 1889
Wanstead was originally built in 1889 by William Oswald Hodgkinson facing the Brisbane River in Toowong and was then named 'Bittal'. After a series of different well to do owners and subsequent name changes, the home was relocated to Red Cedar Estate of Pullenvale to this superb 2.5acre allotment at 20 Lilly Pilly Road, Pullenvale where its last name given by Andrew Barlow in 1899 (Bank Official who became M.S.A for Ipswich in 1888) was retained.
