More about the land block... A Grand Victorian Mansion
One of Malvern's last remaining grand Victorian mansions in immaculate condition. Constructed circa 1896 this is a renovated two storey period dwelling featuring front verandas with decorative timber balustrades and fret work, pitched slate roofing, double hung sash windows, timber corbels to eaves, tuck pointed facade and part stucco render to upper walls.
The residence comprises a central entry foyer, lounge room, dining room, two studies, purpose built basement cellar with a capacity of more than 2000 bottles, laundry, large combined kitchen/meals/living room, four or five bedrooms and two bathrooms.
Internally the residence retains many original period features including decorative cornices and plaster ceilings, Baltic pine and brush box floors, high timber skirting boards, ornate timber balustrade to central staircase, leadlight windows and six open fireplaces with cast iron inserts and either marble or timber mantle pieces. More modern additions to the dwelling include brush box flooring, integrated surround sound speakers to living room, built in timber joinery and double glazed windows to both upstairs master bedrooms. There is potential to develop a third story
