Extreme amounts of bulling/racism nothing done by teachers as well as excessive aggression from teachers.

This school is very bad wouldn’t recommend for even the worst people on earth.they change yr 7 classes in the middle of the year with out telling anyone.They let good teachers that can teach go to other schools without replacing them.they can’t teach. There not up to the expectation of the area where there are many smart gifted people.The gifted students that go to this school have had the education ruined and won’t be able to get there dream job when at others schools they would be help to get a good atar result. If you care about your child’s education don’t send them here the school has change for worst.

I had to pull out my daughter after three years of bullying and poor quality of education.
I don't recommend this school to anyone.

This school is terrible, 0/10, wouldn’t recommend anyone go there, most of the teachers don’t teach anything useful, target kids like me whenever they don’t know who did trouble, and turn a blind eye to bullying or very serious problems regarding students. The teachers take the ‘talking back’ thing way too seriously to the point that saying a word after saying something gets you a detention. Everyone expects school to be fun with learning and from what Gilroy set itself up to be, it should’ve been outstanding, but one of the teachers literally tried looking out if there was anyone having fun, then they knew they weren’t learning. Also if teachers made a mistake, and students tried to point that out and had VALID reasons for an incorrect punishment, they’d just get more punishment, calling it talking back. A lot of students there as well are really bratty and rude to other students, and it’s not just one group per year group, it’s like 10 per year group. All the supposed ‘cool’ kids always bully the kids that stand out or something, and teachers turn a blind eye on it. When you’re learning something in class, you aren’t even learning something at all, even further than the fact school doesn’t teach you anything useful for the real world, for a school requesting that high of payment for a student to attend, it might as well be a primary school if they’re teaching perimeters and picture books to year 7’s. This school is terrible, never go here or you’re just dumping money in the drain.

My daughter has attended school and has been very proud of herself. She has been acing her tests and has moved from a different school to Gilroy and has experienced a big difference. She is very happy with her decision and has found school much easier for her. She has started to contribute in sports and other things that the schools have. This school is excellent and my daughter loves this school. The teachers are great and my daughters friends are lovely. My daughter has been succeeding everyday and has been loving school. We are both very happy with moving to Gilroy

Had recently graduated last year. Overall was alright school Education tho through the senior years felf as if staff were not full equipped to handle the new syllabus change. After graduation school has also deleted our emails which are linked to our Google docs. Meaning all online notes are now gone from over the span of 6 year. This is very disappointing as they encouge everything to be on online-> Google docs. Thus meaning now I will have no notes and work for when I go to uni/get a new job. Felt like all the money spent to learn has been throw straight out the window. Staff were never full equipped to deal with bullying and mental health issues among students.

Very disappointed with this school. Pathetic especially during COVID-19. No support for the partner or the students. No communication or guidance. Have heard other schools are in daily contact with their students. We pay all this money and no technology to support us. Pathetic. My daughter will be pulled out next term already have her enrolled in another school.

Don’t waste you money. If you want your kid to be mentally and physically broken!
Bullied by teachers and students. No catholic morals what so ever. Don’t even consider this as a school for your child!

Pulled my daughter out. Teachers are hopeless bully issues. Teachers turn a blind eye and don’t deal with the situation. Very disappointed!

I'm looking for current parent reviews of Gilroy College please. I'm closely considering the school and whilst i completely get that there is no perfect school I would like to find a school that would suit both my children (Yr 8 and Yr 10).
One child is especially sporty, engaging, friendly and applies herself well to school work. My son (Yr 8) works hard at school in certain subjects, is friendly and has great friends at his current school although isn't sporty at all.
I guess I'm trying to fund out about the culture within the school and the quality of the teachers. Is there a commitment by the teachers to encourage each child to try and do their best,
I'm trying to find an encouraging school environment that offers capable and hopefully committed teachers.
Any help with answering my queries or any advice please.

My daughter attends this school & is currently in year 8 - I have always had enormous support from all teachers, counsellor, & principle. Unfortunately you will always find a small group who bullies in ALL schools. Its our job as parents to teach our children to stand up to these kids because our kids may all be open to bullying outside of school or in the future at their work places. If you find you are not getting help, you must look for answers outside the school. I'm really sorry to hear about your son & I really hope you are able to find support and help. Dont give up and if I can offer any type of support, please let me know.

My children have attended Gilroy since 2008 and have found the College to be excellent! The teachers are supportive and my children (I have 4 children been at or going through Gilroy). I am active at Gilroy and know how supportive the College leadership team is to parents.

My son went to this school and was subject to horrifying anounts of bullying. In support of this parent's review , since 2002 to 2009 to current date nothing has changed. The assistant principal was a bully as well and tried to force my son to leave. My son had his arm broken, our house egged,abusive phone calls, dirt placed in his lunch, a gay website stating he was gay and it is sad that this is still occurring now to a girl. The CE Dept should be aware of this ongoing problem as the only constant since a change of principals and teachers have occurred since 2002. This is the worst school as my son was traumatised to the enth degree and I would like to support this parent's review to seek action and answers from the Catholic Education Board to question the assistant principal who might be able to assist since th principal has left.review

My daughter attended this school for two years and suffered extreme forms of bullying. The teachers and counsellors were of very little help. I found the assistant principal at the time along with her teacher to be aloof and lacked empathy. My daughter suffered from depression and anxiety for many years due to her experience at Gilroy.
