We thought the way bullying was dealt with was just the way it is. It wasn't until our kids moved on to other schools that we realised how badly these issues were dealt with.
Our only regret was not realising sooner :(

The "good" reviews are from the P&F members who were asked to write positive reviews about the school to balance out the bad ones. What a joke!!!! There's a reason so many good teachers have left this place. Look elsewhere

One of my children is still in therapy from the bullying received at the school. Unfortunately the victim when finally having enough of the ill treatment stands up for themselves they are the one who is punished. I do not recommend the school at all. The principal smiles to your face but talks about you behind your back. Do not be fooled. She panders to families with multiple children or younger children ready to come into the school.Despite the diversity in the school how many multicultural student leaders have there been? How many school captains from single-parent families or non-Anglo families? It's all lip service. There are very few teachers that last the distance long-term in the school. A constant turnover of staff. Rarely did my kids have an uninterrupted year with the same teacher.

Thongs seem ok at first but you soon discover there is a clicky group of parents and students who are the chosen ones. Their children are chosen for everything whilst the rest stand on the sidelines and watch :(
I guess that's the downside of a small school where children get opportunities based on what their parents do for the school, rather than on merit.
Not everyone gets the same deal here sadly

The principal is outstanding - clever, extremely co-operative and willing to listen and has great ideas and strategies. My daughters love the school and we’re e trembly impressed

I've had one child go through from Prep and is now in high school, she loved every moment of her time here. I still have 2 younger kids at the school and they love it also. The teachers are second to none, it has lovely grounds and a fantastic principal who makes sure school life is varied and fun.

I have two children at Moorabbin Primary. I love it here. The staff are caring and nurturing. The Principal is approachable and is always involved. There is plenty of space for the kids to run around compared to some of the other local schools which have greater numbers of students and less space. My preppie has learning difficulties but due to the fact they are trained and use Multisensory learning methods, he is improving. Cannot recommend enough.

We moved to the area in 2016 and I did an exhaustive amount of research into nearby schools. I had all the stats, all the reviews, had booked a few school tours, but when I got to Moorabbin Primary I had that gut-feeling and just knew it was the one. I find Moorabbin Primary to be a warm and active community of teachers, students and parents who really care. The principal and teachers are committed to providing an inclusive and diverse learning environment where my two children can thrive at both an academic and personal level. My children are excelling at Moorabbin Primary and get excited about going to school! Suffice to say, I am one very happy and satisfied Mum!

I have 2 daughters currently at the school an a third one to come. The inclusive nature, flexible learning and the smaller class sizes are what attracted us to the school. The sense of community is what we now enjoy most.

I am so glad we moved to this school from a highly ranked private school- my child is not just seen as a “number” they are valued, cared about and wncouraged to do their absolute best. They have been given the opportunity to do accelerated programs as they are high achieving and this is seen as an asset by both staff and parents and they are not seen as different or odd for it. I have never seen a principal who is more actively involved and who knows their families and students as well as the principal at MPS does, this was a real positive for me and helped me make my decision to move my child here. Other pluses include the small class sizes and school size as a whole- it’s a community and students don’t get lost in a large group. The parents and students are welcoming and inclusive. If I could rate this school higher than excellent, I would!

This school has come a long way in a short time. There are rumours out there and I heard them before transferring my children here and they are completely and utterly unfounded. This is a community school that accepts and protects those that choose to be a part of its community. I cannot rate the current principal highly enough after experiencing two other local ones who fell well below the mark, not present, not approachable. If you want your children to have the opportunity to learn and grow in a real world school environment this is the place for you and your family. We don’t just talk our values, we walk them too. MPS is a hidden gem and we welcome our local and wider community with open arms. The curriculum supports all learning styles and supports or develops every student as needed.

School has a wonderful culture and principal. They are implementing new programs and focussing on the explicit teaching of literacy. The children are well behaved and there is a strong focus on instilling learning and leadership. They are extremely welcoming to families who have children with difficulties and aim to provide the most robust teaching they can. The principal is very approachable and works closely with her school community. I moved my child into this school from a far more 'affluent' area because of its small size and organised, structured and focus on literacy, math and science. They have a fantastic science program! Do not overlook this school.

How can you expect your children to lean any real values when the personal educating your kids flat out lie in your face and sweep their mistakes under the table, they caused more harm than good to my kid, & I can honestly say the only people you can trust here are the kids, this school is run by a pack of morons, I'd think twice.

I heard several complaints by other parents prior to my child attending this school, which I ignored as the welcoming bus seemed so genuine, I soon discovered a wave of unprofessional and unethical standards from the principal and a handful of staff. I would not recommend this school on any level except for the more junior teachers and office personal who remain diligent, aware and respectful in their work approach.

Don't like it my kid always getting bullied and beaten up. Every day my kid comes home miserable. All year I never saw my kid lighten up until I transferd her to this school
