All my children went to this school. They all are high achievers in their professions. The school is excellent if your child wants to put in an effort. Many don’t so their scores drag this school down. It’s not the school or the teachers but the parents who need to discipline their kids and motivate to do better!

I am really scared to go here because I have to because the schools I chose for selective schools was too high and I have to go here because it is my local.

Graduated year 12 the other day (27/09/2018).The school is very good & it honestly does depend on:
A: the people in your year group
&
B: What your peer support leaders year group was like when you were in year 7 (Our peer-support leaders in 2013 was a good year group)
My grade is extremely good. There has been no bullying or fighting in my grade over the course of 2013-2018.
However, the current year 11's (class of 2019), 10's (class of 2020), 9's (class of 2021), & 7's (class of 2023) are all terrible. There is constant bullying, fighting, crying, drugs, under-age drinking & a whole lot more.
Year 8 is really good (probably because my grade were there peer support leaders when they were in year 7) & my grade probably turned the way out it did because we had good peer-support leaders (class of 2014) when we were in year 7 (2013).
Most of the teachers are also all very good & as long as you enjoy the subject, you will most likely enjoy your teacher (I was fortunate enough to get all of the senior subjects I wanted & got teachers that I really liked).
In response to the parent with terrible grammar on the 12th of September 2018, the international students are generally bad in terms of smoking as in China (where most of them are from) think that it's "cool" to smoke, when in actuality, it's disgusting. Most of them all leave the school premise & go to either the alleyway next to the school, don moore or where the scout hall is surrounded by trees on Barclay Road.

I am a parent whos child just 3 terms into the year 7.
so far so good.
did not have any problems yet.
my child was not bullied .
he studies well . his first report was excellent.
he was lucky with friends and people around him.
off course if you want your child to be very well educated you never leave it for the mercy of school and no matter which school is it King school or school down the road. you take matter into your own hands and educate your child more.
i did heard about year 12 people smoking and teachers telling them off.
i did not hear about any fights yet nor my child had been in one.
my child is happy and well settled in school.
about bad influence.
it could happen anywhere and it is parens job to teach the child to choose your relations wisely.
so far so good.
who wants to study- will study. even at home.
who does not - will be spending time smocking in the toilets and setting the soap dispensers on fire.

This school is good and gives excellent opportunities but it also has a lot of bullying. Good- they have lots of different extra curricular like band, art, drama and dance. Teachers are nice and they always hold different events. Bad- people get bullied for their physical appearance, personality and even what their culture eats. Some teachers are really unfair. Apparently "I" have to give in a note every time my injury hurts even though I gave in Several notes this year and the year before saying that I am unable to do sport if I am hurt. The unfair part is that the teacher lets another student off sport because of their injury but they doesn't have to bring in a note at the start of the year or every sport lesson. There are also other bad things like people smoking during breaks, setting the soap dispensers on fire and and lots of fights. I would have to say go to this school if you have a strong heart and you can handle teasing.

I'm an ex student, I got into multiple fights or tense situations with either individuals or groups of people. There's always drugs/smoking and underage drinking but we have to be real, every school has that. They might just be better at covering up.
Teachers are generally nice but sadly have an "I don't care" attitude besides the English department. IT has an "I don't care" attitude but that's precisely why it produces the best students. To be in IT, you need to be willing to figure stuff out on your own and learn as a hobby rather than being spoon fed information.
Sometimes we think going to a good school produces good students, that's wrong. Many who have attended muirfield have become incredibly successful and genuinely hard working compared to schools where they're spoilt by being spoon fed. Muirfield produces perseverance in students and in tern produces harder working employees who actually know how to learn by themselves. Muirfield doesn't drain natural talents from students, it allows them to be who they want and not just who they are told to be like most my other friends from different schools.
I don't regret going to Muirfield, it taught me to work hard and be thankful for the results that produces.
If you're concerned about me not getting a degree, I converted my advanced diploma into 2 years of my degree. I just need to study 1 year full time to have a completed degree with 5 years of working experience (and savings) now :) . There's always ways to get where you want! Just fight for it and for parents, believe in your children! No one believed me except my parents and look where I am now!

I do not recommend anyone to send their child here mostly because most the kids are stuck up, loud and do not let anyone else learn no matter what class you are in and all the teachers prefer to look after those kids. Also if you do not want your child to do drugs or waste their life do not send them to this school as pretty much every lunch kids smoke in the bathroom and light the soap dispensers on fire pretty much everyone you ask can tell you who is a drug dealer. Most teachers don't do their job properly and do not take into consideration that kids learn differently so they just place a book on the table and ask them to copy pages which for me i cant learn like that. all the classes that i enjoy (music, graphics tech, information software technology) are all full of those kids who don't allow you to work or learn anything. another big this are fights that happen at this school they happen all the time and most of the time even when teachers find out about them always the blame is put on the wrong person.

I am quite happy with the school. I do wonder about the parent who wrote on August 7. Would you take advice on education from someone who cannot use capitals and cannot spell? It is "suggest" and "their". Just saying!

Terrible school, my years at this school consisted of constant teacher changes mid year (Most notable was my mathematics teacher Mr John Hector Brodie, who ditched the class to run for mayor of Holroyd city council) The replacement teachers lacked enthusiasm and the grades slipped.
Many of my classes where permanently supervised by substitute teachers who did not teach any of the curriculum (Most notable was my elective for 'detail drafting', the teacher convinced the school to spend thousands of dollars investing in highly regarded computer aided design software 'Bentley Microstation' only to ditch the class and school a few weeks in and jump ship, we never learnt any skills or knowledge regarding detail drafting or computer aided design, two years wasted.
One particular full time geography teacher played the same video (Twister) every lesson for an entire year.
As a past student of this school, please take my advice, what ever you do, do not send your child to this school.

My son just finished here and got an excellent HSC mark. But even more importantly he was happy and he got to do lots of different things. Don't know who the people are who posted above but every school has students who treat others badly at some time - they are kids after all and school teaches them to get on with others. My son says there is hardly any bullying and the teachers are really friendly. Also be says the rock thrower was probsbly not from mainstream but from a special small unit attached to the school for kids with emotional issues like depression and anxiety. They aren't in the normal classes.

There is many problems at this school when I went to opening day to look around the school my child spotted someone throwing bricks at another child and the police had to be called I had still let my child go to that school even though I knew it was the wrong choice
