I attended Sacred Heart in the 1990’s and was so scarred by the experience that I would never ever send my child to any catholic school but not especially SHC. The 6 years I attended here was horrendous.
Bullying was extremely prevalent with teachers doing absolutely nothing, the campus was tired and run down (class rooms in lower high school were unchanged from the 1930’s), with religious teaching being prioritised over academic learning.
The head mistress on occasion would physically slap students, with a friend’s parent once threatening her with assault charges after she slapped their daughter with a metal ruler.
The education was significantly substandard compared to other high schools and colleges with minimal choice of subjects and extremely poor resources.
Sports choices were, again, extremely limited with very poor resourcing.
There was very little chance of getting ahead academically with such poor facilities and resources despite most teachers doing their best.
Many students struggled to get into university (it still went to grade 12 until the mid 90’s) owing to poor education facilities. Probably the only good things this place ever did was abolish grades 11 and 12 and also go co-ed. As a single sex all girls school when I attended it was a catty and extremely nasty environment.
Unless you’re deadset of giving your kids a substandard Catholic education (and I’d question why you would want to given dubious Catholic ethics and far poorer education outcomes compared to independent or state schools) I would avoid this school.

If you want your kids to have an enjoyable time learning this is not the place. My sister and I both started in kinder, her going right through. My sister has a disability and was bullied everyday. Pushed down stairs, bashed had her objects thrown down toilets.. do you think the school did anything? No!! As she had a disability the blame was always put on her to the point my sister only started attending school a couple days a week. One time her head was split open due to being hit around the head with a metal pole, but of course to them my sister was at fault as she apparently didn’t have the best communication skills. I left the school a couple years back for the same reason and since I’ve heard it’s only gotten worse boys pissing on each others shoes after a sport lesson, posting pictures Of students on social media making fun of them ( without their knowledge ) the lost could go on. Very disappointed as they’re still making my mum pay fees, ( I left less then half way through a year maybe two months in due to me coping a hard time from other students but they’re still making my mum pay for the full year) and when my mother addressed them over the issues I was having I was told there was no point in me coming to school anymore. For a school that’s so expensive you’d at least expect your kids learning experience to be positive, and worth it but that’s unfortunately not the case here.

We have 2 children at the school and have found the school to be non-responsive to academic concerns. They are very quick to point out any areas in which a student is falling behind, but little focus on solutions and poor communication with parents. Poor behaviours and bullying are tolerated at the school with little consequence for the offenders, creating distracting and non-respectful learning environments. Teachers are too busy dealing with behavioural issues which leads to a lack of focus on academic support. This is not an isolated case, 30% of students in my child's year are participating in external private tutoring. Yet the school denies the problem. Very disappointed with this school, we are looking elsewhere.
