The Queensland Government has announced changes to the existing First Home Owner Grant (FHOG) scheme. This will now be known as the First Home Owner Construction Grant (FHOCG) and from 12 September 2012 will only be available to first home buyers who are buying a newly built or off the plan property.
Key facts for the new FHOCG
- The Newman Government's First Home Owner Construction Grant is worth $15,000
- The FHOCG is for first home buyers who are buying a newly constructed or off-the-plan property
- The FHOCG replaces the First Home Owner Grant which was $7,000
