Houghton's oldest surviving shop, the Old Bakery with parts dating back to 1850 has been sympathetically renovated and refurbished in a country style over the last five years and retains the original bakers oven.
Situated in a well maintained picturesque village just 25 mins to city schools, life is lived in a friendly neighbourhood where everyone is always willing to help out.
There are a few local events and amenities not to be missed - Carols in the Square, Pancake Day event, CWA high tea and soup days and the Houghton Auction.
