Derby General Store & Providore
74-76 Main Street, Derby
The historic General Store, built in 1896, in the mountain biking Mecca of Derby has recently been reopened as a gourmet providore, charcoal chicken, general store and self-service fuel shop. Upstairs from the shop you will find a 3 bedroom residence with arguably the best view in town of both Main Street right through to the old mine face beyond. This is very special!
Set across two titles, the house and shop sit on a 1012 m2 block and the bowsers and sheds on a 372m2 block next door.
The shop is a open plan commercial space (15 x 5 m) with a counter and newly fitted kitchen down one end as well as two small store rooms behind. The kitchen is freshly fitted out with immaculate range hoods, rotisserie cooking, espresso machine and a variety of other commercial cooking and display equipment. This area is heated by a wood heater.
The fuel (unleaded and diesel) is completely self-serve, 24 hours a day, set and forget. It is the only 24/7 fuel stop in Derby and literally allows you to make money while you sleep as they fill up at 4.30am on their way to the airport. A shed and non-functioning cool room sits behind the bowsers.
The residence features three bedrooms, two with BIR's that also take in gorgeous views across the old mine face. The lounge is heated by a cosy inbuilt wood heater and flows onto the kitchen that was installed only three years ago and is spectacular! With quality taupe cabinetry, loads of storage, a sexy black oven, range hood and tap wear, island bench, dishwasher and just oodles of style, this kitchen is frankly a masterpiece. Enough said.
The bathroom features a shower, toilet and vanity and there is...
