You have to wear correct socks or you will be sent home you have to have a correct haircut or you will be sent home and will have to cut it how they like you have to leave blazer on at all times even during hot weather. Teachers are being unfair to students and definitely have favourites. They do not let you use the bathroom and their excuse is “you should’ve went in recess or lunch” the teachers are always yelling and girls have to have a specific scarf style. Shirts tucked in and deep learning is not teaching us anything! It is the same as saying making a student stay home and do class work with absolutely no help! And they suspend you for playing games! Why do we have to pay $1500 for a laptop that has all apps blocked we can only acces teams PowerPoint and word. Is this a good idea, maybe not after - 1. Working parents have to organise a carer for their kids for that day, 2. students don't have access to their teachers during this day, 3. Most obvious, these are kids we are dealing with who require to be taught and guided and i guess thats why teachers have a job, 4. How does this fit in the "Australian" curriculum, 5. How is this day beneficial, 6. how is this going to improve the standards of teaching and learning at minarah college. A fact from my observation with multiple students from this school, this day for students is like an additional holiday with a lot of negatives. In other words the person/s who have introduced this have got no idea of what they are doing/or have not properly thought this through. What a waste of time, resources and money.
