We went there because of the bilingual program. Being in the education sector, we fully understood the benefits of this program for our child. How wrong we were, though as Wellers Hill's roll out of the program was chaotic, employing very inexperienced teachers with no mentoring nor support. Very sad to see Japanese teachers burnt out and abused by the management of the program, especially by ex-principal John Webster. The program was all about him and never about the children. Somewhere everyone got caught up in the 'program' and not about how children might feel nor how best to deal with young children who might find it stressful. So much was hidden from the parents. Unfortunately, this school is still in the media due to the actions and inaction of John Webster. How wrong that judge is about the bilingual program - John Webster is the most arrogant, unprofessional and uncaring person in education I have ever come across. What a kick in the face for all the families of the school who endured such painful experiences and had to move their young children to other schools. Shame! Shame!
