I will send my children to school there. | | | By Parent - 2016年08月23日, 評價: 較差 | I cannot comment on the High School side personally, but it's with a heavy heart that the school (Junior and Middle schools) have gone downhill since the implementation of the PYP (Primary Years Program). Numbers in Prep are down from when our children went through. The Middle School have quietly lost one of their four classes mid-year this year.
Perhaps parents are cottoning onto the slip in standards? One of a handful of schools in the Brisbane area have, like St Peters, bought into the UN's sub-substandard educational curriculum, otherwise known as PYP. SPLC
will very quickly fall into the category of once well regarded. Never mind teaching the students the 3-R's. It's far more important to spend precious time teaching our young children relativism and radical environmentalism served up with a side of social justice! When we looked at how little time was actually spent on academics, our heads spUN (Pun intended).
Buyer beware: IB schools happily admit that their teachers are "facilitators" and that the academics, the facts our children are meant to learn, are done in a self taught style ("inquiry" based learning). Translation: stick the students in front of iPads all day long to spend their days trolling the Internet to educate themselves.
We are following suit with the other families who are leaving en masse. Our notice is in to withdraw at the end of the academic year, though I hesitate to write academic as St Peters no longer is. It seems that the Head of College has had enough as well. He, too, is moving onto greener pastures! | | | By Parent - 2013年11月10日, 評價: 優秀 | | I was new to St Peters this year in grade 8 and found found all staff to be very supportive, always willing to listen and encourage the students as well as spending a great deal of time communicating with the parents. They are very supportive emotionally to our newly turned teenager and understand the hard times of adolescence. Whilst they understand, they also provide numerous avenues for educational support and peer support. Despite the enormous fees and the hardship we face to pay them, we have been very impressed with what our daughter has achieved this year and we look forward to seeing all of our 4 children graduate from St Peters in the distant future. | | |
