What’s in the name? ‘Henry Sutton’ was born in Ballarat, Victoria in September, 1856. Not widely known, he was in fact a brilliant inventor. Regrettably, others took out patents on 16 of his telephonic creations.
He also invented a vacuum pump, the principles of which were adopted by the Swan Edison Company in creating vacuums in electric light bulbs. Then there was his theory on television in 1890… to find out more, google ‘Henry Sutton’, it’s a very interesting read.
