Great design is all about meeting needs. So when the highly-demanding owner of this Golden Triangle property decided he needed a well-designed three bedroom, 2.5 bathroom home and a good-sized garden, he turned to an architect friend to maximise the block ...then he started discovering other "needs". There was a need for a sense of space - so a soaring cathedral ceiling and a gallery level of bedrooms was set high above the formal zone. There was a need catch day-long sun and garden outlooks from every room, so floor to ceiling casement windows were added at every turn plus an eclectic internal window in the mezzanine. And there was a need for sociable spaces, so a roaring open-fireplace and a wide kitchen island bench were added to the casual living and kitchen area so guests could take their choice.
