The two buildings provide a multiplicity of accommodation options making everyday living and entertaining easy. With an interior heavily influenced by the principles of Danish design using timber and other natural materials, lighting and sculptural elements, the original building has two levels downstairs is a living area set around a wood heater with wetback, windows on three sides, a compact bathroom and a large dining area with its own woodstove backed by copper plates. The efficient galley kitchen has granite bench tops, a dishwasher, built in storage lockers and cellar. The nautical theme is echoed in the many outside decks, portholes that frame the views and the arched ribs across the ceilings.
Access to the Captains cabin is gained by the spiral staircase where there is a mezzanine study or home office area and the master bedroom. Air can be circulated throughout the home via ceiling fans, air conditioners and opening screened doors. A sheltered courtyard between the two wings of the house also offers a wood fired pizza oven for outdoor dining.
The second building has a bathroom and storage mezzanine, two rooms that can be used as studio spaces, guest accommodation or simply as an overflow from the main house. It too has decks to relax on.
